the wildy is actually more dangerous right now since most player killers could easily be avoided.

I wonder, however, is the wildy too dangerous now? if you 3/4 item skill/kill you'll be dead inside of 10-15 minutes.

I don't see anything clever or skillful in attacking and killing unarmed skillers/penguin hunters. I like this update because pvp is now between people who actually want to fight.

Exactly. There were too many PvPers acting like parasites.

This is the single worst update in runescape history. R.I.P Runescape I quit unless forced pvp is returned to the wilderness.

You know, they said this about something else and the game is still alive. Funny how updates become the " worst" whenever the person or group think that they are entitled to something. You never thought about the Devs who spent time on this do you? How much hate they get because the game is changing and they are part of that change.

If the update is the " worst update" than you are the worst kind of player to stay around.

I know you will call me a griefer and, for the record that makes you incompetent. It was impossible to be "griefed" in a clearly labeled player killing zone, as being that it was a clearly labeled zone intended for killing players.

Real mature tough guy. Failing to understand why the update happened is part of the reason why Jagex should never do updates based on the whiney players who think they are entitled to keep the game as it is.

Add benefits to being skulled, like 0 flash mobs interrupting pvp, more xp while skulled, volcano only shooting a rock with 1 combat style at you while skulled and higher drop rates of items while skulled. Give players an actual reason to Risk instead of most players opting out since being skulled has no benefits.

I both agree and disagree with you on this one.

What I would have imagined being a better update is to make PVP in the wildy less punishing, but still be on all the time.

An implementation I would personally enjoy would be to have an access deposit to the wilderness, being your combat level times 10k. (cb 138 will be a 1380k deposit).

When you get killed by a player, you will be sent to Death where you can reclaim your items for the death-cost fee. (Maybe an inflated price?)

The killer will be rewarded with a token worth about your death-cost + your initial deposit. The killer can then redeem this reward at a npc (death?)

This is just an example which I would have loved to see in the game because you still have a guaranteed drop (deposit), AND players who have more valuables with them will greater reward you if you manage to take them out without discouraging players to come visit.

Except that the point being made by the OP is that he enjoys killing all players in the wildy just to make life difficult for them - to stop them completing achievements or whatever they are doing.

While there are players like the OP in RS, the wildy would never have loads of players, we avoid it because we want to avoid players like them.

This update will mean that everyone who WANTS to pvp will be able to do so and those who don't will opt-out - surely that's better for everyone except for those players like the OP who only want to grief other players?

The funniest thing is the they are now experiencing the same grief they caused and they don't like it - hoist with their own petard!

Making the pvp optional effectively eliminates competitive pvp regardless of what you have to say.

There really isn't anything competitive about killing people that aren't prepared for a fight bro. If you want competitive PVP, challenge people to fights that are around your same skill level and preparation. Otherwise you're not wanting competitive PVP, you're just looking to be a menace. OSRS still has a functioning wilderness though. Why don't you go prey on noobs there?
