I both agree and disagree with you on this one.
What I would have imagined being a better update is to make PVP in the wildy less punishing, but still be on all the time.
An implementation I would personally enjoy would be to have an access deposit to the wilderness, being your combat level times 10k. (cb 138 will be a 1380k deposit).
When you get killed by a player, you will be sent to Death where you can reclaim your items for the death-cost fee. (Maybe an inflated price?)
The killer will be rewarded with a token worth about your death-cost + your initial deposit. The killer can then redeem this reward at a npc (death?)
This is just an example which I would have loved to see in the game because you still have a guaranteed drop (deposit), AND players who have more valuables with them will greater reward you if you manage to take them out without discouraging players to come visit.
Except that the point being made by the OP is that he enjoys killing all players in the wildy just to make life difficult for them - to stop them completing achievements or whatever they are doing.
While there are players like the OP in RS, the wildy would never have loads of players, we avoid it because we want to avoid players like them.
This update will mean that everyone who WANTS to pvp will be able to do so and those who don't will opt-out - surely that's better for everyone except for those players like the OP who only want to grief other players?
The funniest thing is the they are now experiencing the same grief they caused and they don't like it - hoist with their own petard!
