I dont know, but it seems since the OP has not returned to participate in his thread since he made it, that he was presenting a controversial suggestion to get attention and maybe even to rile folks up.
If that's the case, it worked. At least one poor soul came and vented their frustration regarding the tax, as evidenced by the hidden posts and threads that can be seen all about.
Its sad that that would happen to someone just because they were not happy.
I was also thinking about people that maybe had valueable stuff on the GE already when the tax took effect, and they took a hit that they were not expecting. If so, it could of been a big enough hit to really raise some folks blood pressure.
It is what it is.

Please no one is taking a huge hit with losing 2% on a trade lol. You are literally keeping 98% plz stop being greedy.
The man who is -correction, was - "investing in rares" wants people to stop being greedy, lmao.
A huge hit is relative to the wealth of each player overall.
Lets say I got my hands on a FSOA. We will value it at 3.2 Billion gps, and I had it on the GE prior to the update. Once I went to collect my gps, after the update, I received 64 Million gps less than I expected.
That may not be a big hit for someone that pulled 14 phats from crackers, but for me, that would be massive. Maybe even more than I have now in my bank in coin.
Also, I stink at math so if my figures arent correct, please advise. Thanks.
Welcome back, btw. So, you havent played the game since 2016?

Taxation has negative effects on the game, it mirrors society.
Like society in general, the 'game' will inevitably feel pressure to increase the tax because over time the 2% will have less of the expected and desired effect.
