yes of course, now begins the frenzy of so-called economists calling for ever-increasing taxation.

As well as a sales tax why not:

- a yearly income tax
- a rares tax
- level 90+ gear tax
- Value-added tax, on all secondary goods produced from lesser items
- Boot and shoe tax just because
- Food tax, because a lot of people eat right?
- ....and the ever-popular herb tax

sarcasm aside, taxes are dumb, on top of dumb, with a scoop of dumb on top. There will be no end to the demand for more taxation on our hard-earned assets and income. Oh, and let's increase membership fees for that ironic belly laugh.

We had this "dumb" tax in Death Cost to begin with. Taxation is hardly a new concept. All games with a player driven economy has some form of taxes to remove currencies from their games. Hard to see why we should have them in Jagex's game.

Actually RS3 lowered death tax too. Does it mean they want to lower membership? No correlation whatsoever actually, although we did get a coincidental membership hike after OSRS's GE Tax update.

Yes, I am happy to see we agree the tax is "dumb" Dilbert.

You had it in death costs, but now - like a viralent disease - it has spread to everyone that uses the GE.

If you die regularly but can bypass the GE, one can see why you would be happy about it.

The good news is, everyone can bypass the GE - all they have to do is tax themselves by alching for income.

Err. We actually reduced the "dumb" death cost. It didn't spread to everyone that uses the GE. It just balanced out the economy.

If you don't die regularly and always use the GE like me, one can see see why you would be happy about it - because you would be making huge net profits on crafting pvm supplies and gear with our SKILLS.

Only a selfish and greedy mind would see this as balancing the economy and be happy with it. Only people who only care about their gameplay and no one elses, but are also benefiting from the change can be happy.

There is no doubt there is a class system in Runescape, and only those rich enough to already have all the resources they need without need for the GE to move those resources are the Kings and Queens of Geilinor.

The rest of us are taxed, without consultation and without representation. We are the serfs who the Kings and Queens tread upon.

There was no poll. There was no consensus. There was just "Okay, this what we are doing to keep a few players happy."

Vast majority of the players are "greedy and selfish minds" then, as nobody even asked a question on the GE tax when Jagex invisted them to ask quetions on Reddit for their Q&A next Wednesday.

The vast majority of players are not on Reddit. They are in the game, or they are not playing.

The serfs stand in front of the banks, looking at dusty and cobweb covered polling boothes wondering what they were ever used for. It certainly wasnt to find out what the vast majority of players think.

If you need to be hopping from social media platform to social media platform to have your voice heard then again, you are not playing the game. You are just being a 'JMod" groupie, ready to like anything they say for a moments attention from them.

The players are IN the game, or you are not a player.

Show us what they said then. They are definitely not in Falador Park with cannons. I still see NOTHING! :D

Adding to the ge tax is a bad idea but taxing players for being inactive is especially bad. It's one thing to miss out on daily or seasonal rewards when absent from the game on holidays and stuff but it's quite another to actually lose in game wealth and items for taking a break to do other things. That's predatory game design and also discourages players from bothering to return if they leave for extended periods. How to block a forum user
