Just FYI............ I am ALWAYS there Early........ I am Maxed......

I also cant see my cursor above the animations of other players and cant get target cycling to work. Again , why I need to see other players animations instead of my own is beyond my comprehension. I also cant understand why other players can do 2 to 3 times the required damage which stops myself and others from doing ours.

You don't need "target cycling" or whatever. If your mouse cursor is on an attackable object, just click to attack. All attackable objects are on top of players, and animations are irrelevant.

If you have to rely on locating a mob and worry about animations, perhaps that's the reason why those who just place their mouse random on the battlefield and use Revolution Mode to attack can get 2 or 3 times the required damages. Typically I can get 200k damages on a 70k task but I stop at 125k to let the lower level players get more dps for their goal, and I don't even need thresholds and ultimates.

If you actually wish to help other players just stop and leave the area at 75k damage. You will still get YOUR reward. If you go 55k over the requirement of 70k you potentially STOP 11 other players that get 65k damage done from getting a reward.

I always use revolution but if I cant even see where my cursor is I have to look at the whole screen to see when I can attack something for a fleeting second. Give one good reason why anyone needs to see what other people are doing and not even see their own cursor?

It depends on how far ahead the TEAM is in completing the TEAM goal. Sometimes other players are lagging behind too, so I did more damage to make sure everything is fine for the TEAM. There is no point to leave the area.

How can you not see the mouse cursor? If you can't see it, it is still not a problem. You don't really need to see your mouse cursor. Just move it around the center and you should see the option like "attack Hell Hound (level xxx)". It is really hard not to see such a looonnngggg string.

What exactly do I gain by lying about not being able to see my cursor? If I could see it I might be able to see the attack yada yada thing you describe. We should all be able to see any npc that we are expected to attack to gain experience. I they wan us to do 70k damage to get the reward we should be killed and sent to DEATH to collect our reward and get a free death at that time. Let the other players stay there until the event is over for them and they can get teleported to death to collect their reward. Any player that doesnt finish when the five minutes is up DOESNT GET A REWARD.
Any player that doesnt think thats more fair just wants to be a GRIEFER IMO.

I don't see anybody suggesting you are lying.

I only wrote we don't need to see any NPC and still attack them if they are attackable. This has been the case since day 1 of RSC in 2001.

Dilbert, why are you contributing much more than your personal target when you've said yourself that you'll get the reward regardless even after teleporting away?

You will get your reward regardless of whether the team completes the entire quota before the 5 minutes is up.

Lameclod, I see you have issues with seeing your cursor. Have you tried turning on custom cursors in the RS settings? When activated, a small image will show next to your cursor in relation to what your left-click is. I.e. if you hover over a tree, it will show a Woodcutting symbol. Perhaps this will help you find your cursor in busy areas.

First, some events are scaled as every player needs to contribute more than their own personal requirement for the event to be completely successfully. For instance, The rock at the Source.

For the other events, nobody can assume nobody in the team will AFK for whatever reason like getting discontinued etc. That's why it is good for the entire team to keep an eye on the progress of the team requirement.

A Cole.
Thank You i will look for that and give it a try.

About an hour ago I was the only one at a Forgotton Soldiers event. I had to get about 130k damaged before I could complete it. Understandable as I was the only one there. Had I not been able to see the npcs and my cursor I dont think I could have finished, even alone.

To go slightly OT I have an idea for a new boss that im sure everyone would love.

1. The boss and its minions are invisible.
2. They all teleport around an ever changing room.
3. Target cycling doesnt work.
4. Its mechanics are totally invisible.

A large number of posts have been on the problem of having high level players who want to finish super fast doing a combat event together with lower level players who need more time to finish.

Some players will always need more time for reasons that are not their fault. e.g.
1. newer to the game
2. not yet got the gear required, including potions etc (incl ironmen/ironwomen)
3. broken arm or any other thing that slows them down.
4. want to help friends and others who need more time.

One solution would be for some worlds to be known to be for players who need more time.
higher level players benefit as they can avoid those worlds and aren't slowed down
lower ones benefit as they get more time to finish and to learn
Win, Win

It wouldn't be mandatory, just a convention, requires no changes to game.

I suggest 3 worlds (so people can pick one with a reasonable ping)
W12 For region nearest Australia
W21 For Europe
W103 For Americas

I agree with this sentiment. As a newer RS3 player having combat events finished before I can get personal goal has dissuaded me from doing the content. Some kind of separation for mid game players to be able to complete these events and get their fair share would be awesome and more engaging at all game stages rather than having to avoid events due to game stage progression.
