Having have the process of skilling construction fixed (that's why both the portable workbench and construction contracts were incredibly important - great construction rewards are no use to anybody if skilling constructions sucks - which basically was the case both in RS3 and OSRS a year ago still, the latter only fixed it in july with mahogany homes, the former in august with those workbenches (yeah - not ideal a mtx feature has to do that) and in November with contracts), the next step certainly should be giving players reasons why they should level up this skill.

Yes this can - and should - be overworld construction, but it would be easy enough to breathe life into the POH by a few impactful changes - taking OS again - fairy ring / spirit tree, teleport nexus and jewellery box alone would give the POH a lot more value - albeit I certainly would approach, that in some other way - construction only starts getting interesting from level 70 onwards there - medium levelled construction also should have some value, except for a couple of niche things. And of course we wouldn't need new rooms for that - put the box (hell - even a second one for silver jewellery) into the skills hall, the spirit tree/fairy ring combo in the formal garden and the nexus in the portal chamber - 3 more rooms suddenly having value.

I certainly wouldn't go overboard for now - sure there could be a lot of customisation and/or prestige stuff - but first the POH needs to become a place players want to visit. Then we should have some QoL updates like the ability to move and rotate placed rooms, then some rather niche features and then the customisation stuff.

THANK YOU for your words! Much appreciated!

Seeing as how I've kept this thread alive since 2017...and people still read/comment on it is just wonderous to me. Means that there are still people out there with ideas similar to that of my own or those that wish to add in to what players have suggested over the countless years that this game has been around!

I for one would literally WELCOME any kind of change to construction outside of Jobs and the Portable workbench. I would like for the PoH to have affects on the outside world as the Farm and Aquarium currently offer.
We have this wide variety of stuff readily available to us, all of these fixings...ect.
I'd even like to see the Combat room grant us some even further boosts to say Reaper and Slayer Tasks...just because.

I fully support this idea, in the context that Jagex handles these suggestions as they see fit. with major consideration into any one item affected. Mostly I agree with the invention workbench and garden functionality. In all reality construction should be somewhat of a hub for all skills in runescape. Your progress in game should reflect on the progress of your player owned house. Construction needs a major and near complete re-work with the option to keep your house the same as it is. might I suggest a different building mode interface with the current building interface being set aside as an optional interface such as legacy mode is to combat. Also I really believe that somehow the player owned slayer dungeon and construction dungeon functionality should become intertwined somehow. I also really believe players want more diversity and architectural freedom in their player owned houses. Do I want to live in a wizard tower? Do I want a basement? Do I want a Tree house such as tree gnome stronghold houses. @Jagex seriously these are the kind of updates that will drive people to the game. PoH Portal Room Update: make it so each portal now gives all options to a spellbook rather than a single location.
*player still needs to do the required things to unlock a given location

Portal #1 - normal spellbook
Portal #2 - lunar spellbook
Portal #3 - ancient spellbook

Could also have it so the player still needs to 'precharge' a location with runes.
For example, the normal spellbook options for Lum, Varrock, Ardy, Fally etc would be present from the interface when you want to teleport to it, but to actually use the location, the player has to have paid the 100 Law, 100 fire, and 300 air for Varrock and the 100 Law and 500 Air for Seers.

New Room: Armory

Hot Spot 1, 2, 3 around walls
1 = Melee
2 = Range
3 = Magic
Stores unique non-quest and non-TH weapons (the Quest Caravan partially covers this)

Display Case 1 and 2
Suggested to be in the center of the room or around walls.
Stores certain armor sets like GWD1-2, Barrows, Masterwork, etc. Storing sets that aren't already covered by the Armor Case in Costume Storage

PoH Kitchen Update

Larder and shelves now have a general store type access so the player can get some cooking ingredients and cooking utensils. Changing it from the multi-click interface to something you can more easily access.

Store interface updates with each tier of PoH Kitchen stuff.

Also suggest streamlining the shelves from 7 to just 3 or 4

Workshop Update
All Tool Stores now have an interface that uses shop interface with an "appropriate" number of tools.

For example,
- 20+ of Tool Store 1 Tools
- 20+ buckets and tinderboxes, but 1 ea knife and spade for Tool Store 2
- 1 ea Tool Store 3 (Brown Apron, Glass Blowing Pipe, Needle)
