Just create a no cosmetic world. All legendary pets would be disabled here as well.

There. Problem solved. And without intricate toggle systems which only complicate the codebase.
honestly isn't a bad idea, but doesn't solve the Drake problem. Those may be Solomon's pets, but they have their own abilities that put them more than cosmetics.

Assuming the trolls aren't using the pets for the abilities, but to show off, there would need to be a better way for people to decide for themselves what they want to see.

"Intricate toggle systems" really? It's a personalization preference, the more there are the better. Finding it through a short series of interfaces is no issue when it's a few clicks and you're done until you eventually change your mind. And it doesn't affect anybody around, they literally just wouldn't be able to tell any difference. But the people using the toggle can enjoy their game more peacefully.

I don't know why any of you consider this a bad thing.

We already have more than enough toggles in our settings that learning to navigate the settings is a chore for new players. Those who want to use those legendary pets for their abilities can just use them on non-restricted worlds, not likely they will be using their pet abilities in crowded areas anyways. °l||l° Modest Skillers T7 Citadel | Skilling clan recruiting players. °l||l°

*cough*Beast of Burden ability *cough* likely would not be changed in a cosmetic free world. It's an ability, not cosmetic.

Learning to navigate the settings needs to be done by everybody at some point. Adding a toggle or a few isn't going to make the settings any more confusing. More than likely this wouldn't even go in any game options menu. Just the pets interface.

Honestly sounds like you people are just finding excuses and personal reasons for not wanting us to have a toggle

We're not talking about BoB's here, idk why you mentioned them.

Learning to navigate is one thing, another is that the settings gets clunky and ugly when there are too many toggles.

Its not about not wanting toggles, its about having better solutions. Why do you think this game is so clunky and outdated? Because of all these bad band-aid solutions. I never said toggles are an all-around bad solution, but merely suggesting that having cosmetics-restricted worlds might be more preferable.

No support, part of the reason why people acquire pets is because others can see them, so it'd be unfair for them to not be able show them to everyone around them. If you don't like company like that, you can hop worlds and/or switch locations (where applicable).

Additionally, it'd clutter the options interface even further (K.I.S.S.) and add extra work to QA to ensure that the game works with both it toggled on and off.

Agreed.

No support from me as well.

Should be able to force pets into baby view. They downsized avatars due to size nuisance they should follow suit with an optional if possible. They should make near banks auto hide the pets and give the hide range a big radius. That would get rid of most visual clutter at banks.

Would be nice to have them have an option to toggle off sound effects from other players like cats, zombies whatever else can be endlessly spammed.

Would love noncosmetic or vanilla animation worlds, so tired of seeing hot sand walk and happy walk everywhere with their never ending moving. The revenant one with its floating T-pose too. Gets so annoying seeing those eyesores.

Drakes, annoying moving animations, and sounds from other players are such a nuisance.

then suggest a fix for the clutter that's better.

I will suggest what I can to get the positive effects in game. I don't care how it gets added, toggle or not, but players shouldn't be forced to see something enormous and bothersome I own just because I paid for it. So I decided on the skypouncer myself and never hear complaints about.

Also, I support the migraines argument after reading that motion sickness and video games article listed a few pages ago. Thats also enough for me to say I want a pro-choice game.

Thanks for adding to the discussion. Just like Imbasketball noted, the broader personalization the better.

But as for the hiding of pets I am particularly against drakes which are visually noisy, often cover other things, which in fact may limit activities of more players within certain area and time.
Everything, ranging from sub-atomic particles to galaxy clusters, has its dynamics predefined. And then there are people claiming that systems like economy, society or other human sub-systems are in our hands.

It would be nice if they could auto toggle off other people's pets if your FPS drops below a certain threshold. I feel like pets contribute to extra lag in already overcrowded areas when they're both very fancy and involve a lot of animations. Not everybody has the time, space, and money for a gaming PC setup or even average-not-terrible hardware, so some people might be having a hard time already even without the extra processing contributed by fancy pets.

I have a gaming laptop now but back in the day I used to only get 15-20 FPS in runescape even on very meh graphics. But of course the people who have the free cash to buy tons of cosmetics for the purpose of showing off can't imagine not having money to buy decent hardware. Or maybe intentionally giving less fortunate people lag and asserting their need for attention as more important than other people's enjoyment of the game is just another way to show off how much more money they have in real life.
