RS3 has added Ancient Summoning not long ago with Archaeology, and we are going to get more undead companions on top of Summoming when Necromancy comes.

While they may continue to add new Summoning content, I think the meta probably will shift to more traditional MMORPG pet class with multiple companions.

Why just have one familiar and evolve it when we can have multiple pets at once and evolving them all together in new game changing content?
