*i stand still, trying to analyze the situation. as both combatants try to stare each other down, i quickly throw a knife which easily gets deflected by the spikes*

*i take a deep breath as Duncan strangely stands still as well. the background can be heard as both try to predict the other persons moves. i suddenly move in for a low swipe followed by a backflip kick*

Well, while I wait to heal (seriously, how long is this gonna take?), I guess I could try to come up with a cape name. ...Let's see, if I'm not entirely mistaken, my power lets me use any weapon (or is it just guns?) like I had practiced for years. So, perhaps I should stick something like "Weapon" in there somewhere. Oh, that reminds me: One of my favorite stories as a kid was the one where Lancelot proved his skill by defeating Sir Phelot with nothing but an elm branch. I guess since Lancelot was the Knight of the Lake, I could make an allusion by putting "Lake" or a synonym of it in my name. ...Hmm, "Lake Weapon"? No, that's absolutely terrible. Wait, I did take French in high school, so maybe that would make it better. That would be... "Lac d'Arme"? That... that actually sounds good. Let's go with that.
...You know, the ground here is really bumpy, so I'm going to- OW! Note to self: Moving while one's ribs are still broken hurts like hell. Well, at least it isn't as bumpy here... Oh, so that's what it was! Someone left a scarf wadded up on the ground. Bit warm for it, but it should at least serve to keep my face hidden...

Really, he does need a healer if he's going to do anything major.
Now, why is it that Lac d'Arme likes that particular story? Well, Fate/Zero!Berserker has a Noble Phantasm called Knight of Honor: A Knight Does Not Die with Empty Hands, which is based off of that story. It lets Berserker use pretty much anything he can get his hands on as a weapon.
Also, that translation might be a bit dodgy, as I used Google Translate. *shrugs* Lord Yatagarasu, the Black Sun.

As the knife darts through the air, the spikes suddenly revolve around the cloaked fighter in the opposite direction, closing around him and pressing together into a sphere, which the knife bounces off of with a clang.

As Mad Guy rushes in for an attack, some of the spikes move, revealing what looks like an amber jewel with a dark ellipse inside. The 'jewel' blinks.

The mass of spikes unravels, extending its long neck upwards and towering over the warrior, steely grey scales and bright flaming eyes.

The dragon stretches out two taloned arms, opens its scaly beak and roars at Mad Guy, swishing its tail, adorned with a large fan-like crest of blades, at him. However, as he goes for a low swipe he easily avoids the attack, which goes straight for his opponent!

The cloaked fighter just manages to summon a wall of solid fire, which the warrior smashes through easily, although the first attack has been avoided. However, this is followed by a back-flip ending in a kick, which strikes the opponent squarely on the jaw, sending him flying through one of the portals into a large cavern, followed by the dragon, which coils around him protectively.

*i enter the portal and quickly scan the area. while i try to attack Duncan, it seems to be in vain and the pyromancy starts making the sword too hot to handle. i then jump to the ceiling in the cavern and stick my sword in it, hoping to topple some of the stone over Duncan*

"Uh-oh." says the pyromancer, as cracks start appearing in the cavern roof. he frantically motions to the dragon, who gets out of the way in time for a cascade of large rocks to fall down towards Mad Guy's opponent.

With only seconds to act, the mage holds the brush-like object between his hands and crouches slightly.*Ok* he thinks to himself, ~I practiced this.*

There's as small explosion underneath him and he suddenly launches upwards in a blur. Something sharp, and glowing orange appears out of the back of the 'brush', which moves around almost blindingly fast.

As quickly as each rock reaches the mage, something slices through it, causing most of the rock to glow with heat, and some of it to melt.

The slices of boulder fall to the ground with a crescendo of noise, their now polished sides gleaming in the meager light that enters the cave.

The pyromancer, wielding a solid-fire katana with the brush as its handle, clashes swords with Mad Guy, both combatants in mid-air.

*i clash blades with Duncan after witnessing my attack fail, making both recoil until we fall to the ground. i crash with a loud thud due to my weight, leaving behind a human sized imprint on the floor while Duncan lands more gracefully. i quickly get up and we both strike at the same time, resulting in a long sword clash. both our faces get illuminated by the fire katana as sparks fly away, eventually making my own blade red hot. not wanting to let it melt i change tactics, stopping the clash to attempt a quick sweeping kick*

Suddenly, portals.
Out of those portals dropped a bottle and two oddly-shaped swords, the former into Lac d'Arme's lap, and the latter pair far enough away that no surge of adrenaline resulted. On the bottle, a note read, "A healing potion. Don't ask how it works, because our best guesses are Tinkertech and magic. -The woman who gave you your Hécate."

Can I trust this? On the one hand, she gave me a means of self-defense, but on the other, she put me in this dangerous situation, yet on the first Brockton Bay wasn't doing much better. Maybe if I just take a sip first... After thinking this, Lac d'Arme carefully sipped the red liquid, and, after finding that he felt a little better, gulped the rest down.
When he had drained the last drop, Lac d'Arme found that he was completely healed. He then stood, went to the swords, picked them up, and nearly dropped them. What the hell are Life Fibers, and how can they be so powerful? Lord Yatagarasu, the Black Sun.

The kick catches the pyromancer by surprise and he is knocked off his feet, tumbling over onto the ground. before he makes impact, however, he is consumed in a cloud of flames and vanishes, only to reappear ten feet in the air above Mad Guy.

Since the flash from the fire is enough to alert anyone to where he's ended up, he decides he might as well go for an offense right now, and chooses to deactivate his weapon, quickly sheathing it and summoning two solid-flame blades, which he hurls at the ground where Mad Guy is standing.

Relocating mid-fall again, he adjusts his stance and appears some distance from his opponent, dashing forwards with his fire-sword drawn once again. He feigns to the left and repeats the process, picking up speed each time, before eventually beginning to attempt actual hits.

*i quickly dive away form the swords and see Duncan preparing to fight. as i see him attacking, i swing my sword aiming to parry, but the feint makes the sword miss, i regain my footing and parry again, only to miss from another feint. i can be heard grunting in frustration as the feigns start to annoy me. Duncan starts hitting for real, catching me off guard and searing some of the armor. the pain makes me angrier and i hit duncans sword in an attempt to temporarily disarm him then move for a swift left hook to the face*

Well I guess I should continue my plot set ups.

As the civilian is healed a some laughter can be heard the voice from before then speaks. "So you managed to shoot the weak point in my soldier's helmet. Was it skill? Or was it luck? Either way I will be watching you mortal." The civilian braces himself for another wave however the wave doesn't come.

Meanwhile elsewhere... What looks like the arena being built can be seen. One of the builders approaches a figure and says. "It's ready master!" The destroyer then wakes up in a strange room and sees one of his servants. "Master! Master! It's reader master!" The servant says. The destroyer then makes a slapping motion and the servant is sent flying into the wall. "I heard you the first time!" The destroyer growls.

The destroyer then walks out into what looks like the bridge of a starship. He then turns to the ship captain. "Set a course for the Lakorian home world." "Roger that. Prepare for launch!" The ship which is roughly the size of a large moon the lifts from the surface of the plane it's on and jumps into "hyperspace".

The destroyer then starts showing clear signs of pain. "Sir are you alright?" The captain asks. "I'll be fine. Being away from a place where destruction has taken place even for a short time is taking its toll on me. No matter this curse korda has put on me won't prevent me from getting what I need on Lakor." The ship then comes out of hyperspace and the destroyer gets out the key that was used to free him. "Soon I shall use the other use this key has. Now time to greet the great Lakorian Shapeshifters."

The destroyer materialises in one of planet's cities and looks around. "People of Lakor. I am the destroyer of multiverses. I have come for your allegiance. So join me or die." A Greater Lakor approaches the destroyer. "And what's preventing me from just doing this?" He then attempts to stab him but the destroyer effortlessly blocks the dagger. Continued... The statement below is false.
