A lone, hooded figure emerges from the confines of his castle, with trusted sword in hand. He slowly walks towards his destination, clearly deep in thought and wanting to be unbothered. He finally arrives at his desired location a few hours later. He takes a minute to survey the landscape before him. He kneels down and touches the ground below him while taking in deep breaths of air as he gets nostalgic about this place. Ten years ago, he fought here to preserve life and defend the world against the zombie invasion. He fought here for the sake of humanity. And little did he know, he made some friends (and enemies) along the way. He was just a kid back then, but he still remembers so much about those years.
He remembers the Doctor and Kairi. He remembers Leon and Annie. He remembers Lucky and Liv. He remembers Mortal and Carn. He remembers them, and so many more. He stands up, walking through the old battlefield. He thinks about his relationship with Lucky, his friendship with Mortal, and his rivalry with Carn, among others. He remembers the battles, the interactions, the trials and tribulations. He smiles as a tear streaks down his face while all of the nostalgia floods his memories. He takes a few more steps towards what he estimates to be the center of the battlefield. He finally takes his hood off, revealing his somewhat older face. But behind the beard and his older features of the man lies the reflection of the kid from a decade ago. He stabs his sword into the ground and packs the dirt around the impact site to keep it in place. He takes one, last long look at the sword before him and looks up, taking in the scenery of the battlefield around him. With one more smile, Stryke says, "Thank you all for everything. This isn't a 'goodbye,' this is an 'I'll see you later.'" And with that, he walks in the opposite direction of his castle and away from the battlefield, ready for the next step of his journey.
<3, I'll still pop in here and there.
