I continued mining and confirming cappers. Phil Gould came by, for a Fletching assist. Later, he came back again, and I assisted him on a second effigy. I'm all maxed out for my Fletching assists!
Time dragged on, and it seemed like it was taking ages to gain resources. But, as usual, as soon as I hit the 1700 mark, it suddenly seemed to speed up incredibly. And just like that, I was done! I was entered into the Mining Golds lottery!
I ran around, thanking clanmates for capping before I left. As I'm sure you expected, I headed straight for the Living Rock Caverns. But the lag there was amazing. A true spectacle to behold! So as I ate dinner, I ran a new virus scanner. Hopefully, I'd be able to get rid of some unwanted things.
I came back an hour later, and to my surprise, I had picked up 43 viruses! I've no idea how those came to be, but I deleted them all anyways. And to my supreme pleasure, the lag was gone! Every bit of it! This was the cleanest Runescape I've had in years! It really is amazing how such a small change can really make such a big difference.
I mined for the rest of the time I played Runescape, slowly edging my way closer to that level 98 Mining goal. Gold Ore has slumped in price again, but I hope that it will pick itself back up!
Thanks for reading! 50% to go until level 98 Mining!
Good night!

Wow, I got a ton of Mining experience today! Which also meant that I watched a ton of Youtube videos...
And surprisingly, I found the Runefest videos posted by Jagex! It was a video of the "Breaking the Bots" Insider Session. Even more surprising, was the players in attendance. There was an 80-year old man there! That really made me think-- Who are the people I talk to daily on here? I seem to assume that they are between ten years old or twenty years old, but I never take into consideration that people older than that must play this game too. And that made me think about this very thread... How old is my audience?
I pondered this question as I mined. I think that's what I like the most about Runescape. Age is irrelevant! I think players only judge you based on your maturity, no matter what your age. That's sort of an interesting thought...
I was getting a little restless from all the banking of the ores, so I decided to go drop mining for a bit. Boy, was it faster! I was getting experience twice as fast! But I felt a little guilty... After all, I was basically dropping money.
I mined and mined, watching videos and chatting with friends. The Mining Golds Citadel is already nearing Tier 6 after only two days since the build tick! Better yet, the lottery that Mining Golds is hosting has so many items now, even I have a good chance at winning! Prizes include 40m+ cash and Dragon Claws! Even 5m could change my bank at the moment...
I was in the middle of banking when Eternum made a surprise visit! I always enjoy a surprise visit down here in the Living Rock Caverns; it's a great way to break the monotony. He was planning on going Mining in the Dwarven Mines himself, so he decided to drop in for a visit!

We chatted for a bit, while Eternum slowly attempted to chip away at a Living Rock Protector's health. Pretty dangerous for a level 40! Unfortunately, the victim ran off no doubt scared of Eternum's ninja skills!
We followed it, and watched it as it fell to the hands of a Slayer. We chatted for a while longer near the Fishing pools. It was a great moment. No bots in the background, no bothers... Just me and a friend, talking. Soon he left though, to go mine for himself.
And so I mined more. While on Youtube, I found a video featuring the first peaks into the Dominion Tower from Runefest! And boy, did it look awesome! The player was fighting Nomad in an arena, and the health bars were at the top of the screen, much like the traditional arcade game Tekken. It looked absolutely amazing! I can't wait for it to be released!
Well, I continued to mine steadily through all of this. As I said earlier, I gained the most Mining experience today than ever before!
In fact, by the time I was done, I had only 244,000xp until level 98 Mining. I had gained an astounding 370k experience! Well, that was a TON of Mining for me for one day; it was time to log off.
Thank you for reading! Only 22% to go until level 98 Mining! Hopefully I can get it tomorrow!
Good night!

Hi everyone!
I started my day with Mining, of course. I wasn't even banking the ores anymore though. No, I was now fully into drop-mining. The experience was so much faster, and it made the boredom go away! It was also a lot more fun; I tried to time it perfectly so that I had a constant stream of experience. Well not exactly constant...
Not long after I had logged on, I got to invite a new clanmate to Mining Golds! I waited at the entrance for him to arrive. Finally, he came, W 124. Mining Golds welcomed W 124 heartily!
Back to Mining I went. I was mining at maximum concentration-- I wasn't going AFK at all! I chatted with Mining Golds at the same time, and I was completely surprised to find out that we had reached enough resources to achieve Tier 6! It's official now: Mining Golds may be the very first clan to reach a Tier 6 Citadel! Now all I can do is to cross my fingers and hope to win something out of that Mining Golds lottery! The prizes are awesome too! They include a cash pot of 106m, and Dragon Claws!
I continued to mine, and Power Drake attempted to explain to me how Mouse Keys work. I don't think I'm ever going to be using those though; He gave me very detailed instructions, and I still haven't been able to make it work!
While I was mining, I was watching some more videos about the 2011 Runefest. In one video, Mark Gerard mentioned that he felt that getting a skill to 99 wasn't nearly as rewarding as the actual physical experience of getting there. I thought about that. And now that I'm nearing the end of my Mining journey, I think he's right. I have made so many friends since I started mining... And I would definitely rather that than a simple 99 next to an icon.

I mined and mined, and was at the Northwest Rock when I realized that the same two players had been there for a few hours. They were just chatting and mining the entire time. And based on their conversation, I assumed that they knew each other in real life. I asked the male player (the other was female), and he told me that they were girlfriend and boyfriend in real life! That was kind of cool... I don't know anyone in real life who plays Runescape
I mined for a long, long time. Man, I wanted level 98 Mining so bad... I was beginning to feel like a robot! Mine, drop, mine, drop, mine, drop. By the time I had only 50,000xp to go, I just wanted that level. And so I continued to mine relentlessly, slowly grinding towards that big 98.
And finally, I reached the point of only 70xp until level 98 Mining. I logged off for the rest of the day.
Nah, just kidding! There's no way I could do that to myself! I ran out of the Living Rock Caverns to the Copper Ore just a few paces to the east. I mined a couple of them to have only 18xp until level 98 Mining! Back into the caverns I went, to the southwest Gold deposit. And there, I achieved level 98 Mining. I recieved huge congratulations from the Living Rock Caverns community, as well as from Mining Golds. This is it guys. The final stretch to level 99. Only 1,200,000xp separates me from a brand new skill cape!
I needed a little break though, and what could be better than giving away items to free-to-play players? I rode a minecart to the Grand Exchange, where I started buying some items to give out. I decided on the following:
-500k
-1000 Big Bones
-1000 Iron Bars
-400 Yew Logs
-10 Rune Hatchets
-30 Rune Platebodies
-1 Rune Platebody (g)
I logged off and entered a f2p world. Wow, was it empty! I ran around, trying to find a player. I headed into the Dwarven Mines, and I finally started finding some players.

I used the same distribution method as my previous giveaway: They would choose a number, and I would give them the item cooresponding to their number. The first player won the Iron Bars. He was intent on giving me the Coal he had just mined, but I eventually coaxed him into keeping it. He was very happy about his gift!
The rest of the gifts were slowly given out. In one world, I found two players with the beginning of their name being lXx. Apparently, they were part of the same clan... The "lXx" clan. I gave the first one the Rune Platebody (g), and the other the 1000 Big Bones. Boy, were they happy! They started thanking me profusely, and then asking me if I was quitting. When I repsonded no, they seemed to get even more appreciative.
When I had only one more prize left, the 500k, a clan member of the "lXx" clan PMed me, wanting a gift for himself. Well, why not? I met him int he Dwarven Mines, and followed him while he evaded the Scorpions. When I gave him his 500k, he was really, really appreciative. I found it was weird thinking that every player I saw was an actual player. I was so used to seeing players and assuming they were bots, that now, it's just really odd.
I headed down into the Living Rock caverns after that, feeling happy and refreshed. After mining for a bit, Eternum PMed me, asking me if I could give a player a tour of the Living Rock Caverns. This wasn't even a friend of Eternum; this was just a random stranger. I met him at the entrance to the Living Rock Caverns, and showed him to the different Concentrated Coal Rocks. I then showed him to the Bank. He seemed to really enjoy it there! He thanked me, and said he could figure out the rest for himself. So I left, and mined for a little while longer before logging off.
Only 1,160,000xp until level 99 Mining!
Thanks for reading!
Good night!

Happy Halloween guys!
AH! It's October 31st already! How did this happen? I had to get my Troll Invasion in for the month! But before I did that, I had to go invite Gum Wrapper to Mining Golds! He was in the middle of a Waterfiend Slayer task, and so I decided to go to him. I needed a break from the Living Rock Caverns!
I took a minecart to the Grand Exchange, where I started withdrawing food, along with a Games Necklace. Gum Wrapper requested that I bring ten Prayer Potions for him though, so I brought them along too. I teleported to the Gamer's Grotto by accident, and then teleported to the Barbarian Outpost. I ran into the whirlpool and ran west, only to find that Gum Wrapper was on the other side of the river. I took a log ride out of the caverns and then teleported to the Burthorpe Troll Invasion with my Games Necklace. At the bank there, I withdrew an Amulet of Glory and teleported to Edgeville. There, I used the Fairy Rings and appeared in the correct side of the Ancient Caverns.
I ran north from there, and started trying to defend myself from the Waterfiend's attacks while I waited for Gum Wrapper to finish his monster. Little did I know though, that the monsters respawned almost instantly! I followed Gum Wrapper to Kuradal, still defending myself. There, I traded him the Prayer Potions and invited him to Mining Golds!
Now because I seem to get a lot of PM's about joining Mining Golds (I don't know if it's because of this thread or not), I think it's worth noting that Mining Golds now has a 1900+ Total Level requirement to join.
Now that I had that done, it was time to do the Troll Invasion D&D. I teleported to the Burthorpe Troll Invasion and banked my items.
After a quick detour to Lumbridge to refill my Prayer Points, I was all set!

I started the Troll Invasion! I started my way through the waves as if it were nothing. Compared to the Fight Caves, this was a breeze!
My tactic is to always kill the last troll right next to the potion. That way, I could heal my stats and health completely right before the next wave started! This was going smoothly, until Wave 10. It wasn't even a difficult wave. It consisted of two Melee trolls and a Ranger troll. I defeated the first melee troll, and then the Ranger troll, and was running over to the potion to lure the remaining troll there. Keep in mind that this is a level 101 Troll.
It hit me with a 241! I started eating a monkfish, but the next thing I knew, I had died! Well... That was embarassing. I failed on Wave 10 of the Troll Invasion... But my efforts were not futile! I claimed my reward in the form of experience and achieved level 62 Herblore! Now my lowest level is at 62!
It was time for more mining now. I headed back into the Living Rock Caverns and resumed my slow climb to the final level of the Mining skill.
It's strange... As much as I like the bots' absence, I sort of miss them... Because now that they're gone, the Concentrated Gold Rocks are collapsing much more frequently, making it more difficult to mine. But finally, I reached 12,000,000 Mining experience! Only 1,000,000xp to go!
Thanks for reading guys!
Good night!

Hello everyone!
Unfortunately, I didn't get much of a chance to play Runescape today... Real life had me in its vice grip of reality. I did manage to get a few minutes in though!
In those short sweet minutes I had, I managed to get below the 1m mark for 99 Mining! That's right, I am now under one million experience to go until I achieve level 99 Mining!
And that's about it... But in bigger news, the Dominion Tower has been released! I have to admit, it looks like it is one of the more exciting updates of the year! I do think that the Combat Level requirement of 110+ is a little unneccesary though; Why not allow a low level player attempt the Tower? He must have beaten the bosses anyways, in the quests! Anyways, it seems that player seem to really enjoy this update, and I'm glad for that. It's been a while since players have really enjoyed an update!
The Behind the Scenes has been released for November as well! Those updates look really awesome, especially the new Slayer Dungeon! I'm really happy that Jagex is adding in a more powerful Slayer monster, as well as a more powerful Mage Armour!
The new website looks really cool too! Not to mention the new lava graphics that you can see in the Media section of the website. It looks really awesome!
And the last thing I'll comment on are these Gold Stars next to Member's profiles. I've noticed that some players have a black start, and some players have a gold star. Does this mean anything? As for the "Member since" part, I believe it goes by when you last subscribed... I know for a fact I was a member back in 2010!
Well thanks for reading guys! 965k until level 99 Mining!
Good night!

Hi everyone!
I still couldn't get much of a chance to play today... But I did get some Mining in! In fact, I am now at 12.1m Mining experience, with only 875,000xp to go until level 99! While I mined, I got to listen to players talking about the Dominion Tower. I had to admit, it seems like a really cool update. In fact, I had thought about something just like this a few years ago, but had never shared it with anyone.
I think the thing I was most excited about was the newspost about Woox16 vs Dominion Tower! If you don't know who the legendary Woox16 is, he is Runescape's most famous boss killer! He has defeated the Corporeal Beast with Red Flowers, soloed Nex, and destroyed TzTok-Jad with no items and one Prayer Point. And now that Woox16 can put himself to the ultimate test within the Dominion Tower, I'd love to see how he can fare against two Nomads at once!
Now, a lot of players are upset about this, partly to do with the fact that Jagex is 'endorsing' him like this. In my personal opinion, I think that it's great! Players have always been complaining that Jagex doesn't interact with their community enough. So whenever they mention a player's name in a newspost (such as Exel or Woox16), I think it's just fantastic. I really, really like the thought that it's possible to work really hard in this game, and come out of it famous. To me, that's something truly amazing.
I think that this Dominion Tower is an awesome update too; Runescape's most powerful players can now challenge themselves to the max in a completely different way than anyone has experienced before! Anyways, those are just my thoughts on it.
And that's really all! By the way, if you remember, I was going to be posting a segment on "Interesting/Popular Forum Threads" on a new sticky. Well, that day has arrived! The segment has been created and you can find it on the first page of the "Forum Community Hub".
Thanks for reading!
Good night!
