Hi everyone!
Today, I took a break from Mining! Not a single ore was excavated! By me, at least. Today I decided to start the Corporeal Beast Quest Line. First up was "Spirit of Summer". As I'm sure you've heard a million times before, I don't post anything that could possibly spoil the storyline; Now that I'm actually getting engaged by quests, I would hate it if someone spoiled it for me!
But before I logged on, I checked the Homepage for today's update. I was a little disappointed to see that there was no update... Until I saw the Update on Bots newspost. I read that thoroughly, and I felt very reassured that Jagex has finally taken a step in the right direction. Yes, let it be known that on October 11th, 2011, Jagex Inc. finally admitted that they were losing the war with bots! Just their admittance to not having the situation under control is good enough for me. Having a specific forum for players to suggest ways of getting around bots is something I thought of years ago, and I'm very glad to see it being implemented.
After being reassured, I logged on and started gathering items for "Spirit of Summer". One of these items was a Skull. I did a bit of research and found out that I could obtain one of these gruesome artifacts in the Wilderness, by the Western Ruins. So I deposited all my items and ran north into the Wilderness. I ran past a patch of old dead forest, and found my Skull! Well not my skull, but you know what I mean.
I gathered the rest of my items, and I had everything needed! I headed over to the spirit girl north of Varrock and started the quest.

It makes any quest hideously long, but it's well worth it. Actually reading the dialogue. I used to hate quests, probably because of how boring and long they were, but now that I've managed to immerse myself into the storylines, I find them much easier to complete. Enjoyable, I might even say. I don't find all quests enjoyable though, even if I do read them. In fact, I think the only types of quests I do like are the Fremmenik/Lunar ones, paired with the Spirit ones. I think it's the serenity and peacefullness that I find so appealing.
This was an interesting quest. The story was quite good, and I enjoyed how it introduced me to what the Corporeal Beast really was. I did have some issues with the puzzle though. Well it wasn't quite a puzzle, but it required a degree of reflexes. I actually had a glitch at one point though! Every time I summoned a familiar, the Corporeal Beast would eat it immediately, no matter where the great beast actually was. And that's enough spoilers for that
I had to relog because of that.
Finally, I was done. As a reward, I gained level 71 Construction! I also recieved Jennik's Ring, an item that can teleport you into the Ethereal Kingdom. Apparently, if I activated this ring near a portal, I would recieve experience in a skill depending where it was. There was a location for Prayer experience, so I headed there, to the Forgotten Cemetary in the Wilderness.
Along the way, I passed by the Green Dragon Pit. There were multiple bots there, along with one player. I talked with him for a bit before moving on. I travelled north, moving further into the Wilderness, until I had finally recieved my 15,000xp for Prayer! I headed back, again passing by the Green Dragon Pit. The player was still there, competing with bots. I spoke with him again, my mind set. It was time to do some bot hunting!
I ran to the Edgeville bank and withdrew some basic items to kill the bots with. I ran back to the Green Dragon Pit.

I returned to the Green Dragon Pit, ready to battle some bots! They were all around my level, if not a bit lower, so it would be lots of fun! I started with the player "mmmnnvmvn" (something close to that) and the battle started! It was quite one-sided; he continuously ate, and because of that, I was PJed by a Green Dragon. I persisted though, burning through mmmnnvmvn's food supply. Right when I thought I had him though, he teleported out. These bots were smarter than I thought...
It was the same story every time. I would almost kill one, but then the victim would teleport out. It was still lots of fun though. Getting PJed by the Green Dragons was starting to get annoying though, so I retired from bot-attacking. I ran back to Edgeville, and deposited my items. I was going to start Summer's End now, but now that I was skulled, I didn't want to risk dying. So instead, I decided to see if the rumour of spam-free free-to-play was true. I logged out and re-entered into World 1.
I ran to the Grand Exchange, and was amazed to see not a single spammer. Quite the change... I was quite happy about it! I decided to see what a dicer there did. I entered the Friends Chat of one of them, and watched him host. In nine rolls, only one player won. He was even doing 60x2! That only made my mind up even more that gambling is bad
I wasn't sure what to do... I decided to teleport to Lumbridge and see if there were any spammers there. There weren't! I could see all the level 3s there, with the names like "gyuagfsd", but none of them were saying anything! Lion 0fJudah asked me then to help him enter the Waterbirth Dungeon.
I grabbed some gear and some food, and switched to his world, where I teleported to Varrock. If you remember (props to you if you do) I had switched my POH location to Taverly to aid in my Summoning training. I spoke with an Estate Agent and switched it back. I then teleported to Relleka and boarded a boat to Waterbirth Island.

I waited there for Lion 0fJudah and his friend to get there. They came, and we ran to the dungeon. As we ran past the Daggannoths, I suddenly remembered that I still haven't killed the Dagganoth Mother...
Everything went very smoothly. Lion 0fJudah and I opened the south gate, and his friend ran through. We then ran to the north gate, and Lion 0fJudah himself ran through. Mission accomplished! I was all alone now... I killed a random Dagganoth before teleporting out.
It was then that I had a strange urge to go boxing. The idea was to start out with 50k. If I won a few, I would deposit my original 50k and then see how much I could win! I headed to the Duel Arena, only to find the minimum bet was about 250k... And to add insult to injury, nearly every player was level 135+. That idea shot down, I decided to have some fun Friendly Duelling. I took out my items from the Bank Chest and attempted to find a fight. I lost the first match... The player was much higher level than me, and was using a combination of Ice Barrage and Vesta Longsword.
The next battle didn't go good either. This player had a massive Dragon Claw special attack, and I was downed almost instantly. The third fight was different. This player used his Dragon Claws as well, and hit about 700 with his attacks. But I hit a 400 with my Korasi! I was almost dead though! I quickly turned on my Blue Heart, and was healed in the nick of time. I switched into my Veracs, and killed! I stood there, with 31 lifepoints remaining.
The rest of the battles were great! I was destroying most of the players, with the exception of the odd 130+ player that challenged me. I eventually invited lilmk to come over and duel with me.
After assisting him with Fletching, we started a duel. He whipped out his Dragon Dagger and started a Special Attack. 200, 230. 170, 140. 0, 80. Where were these coming from? In just a few seconds, I was almost dead!

Luckily, my Korasi, which has been hitting very high lately, came through with a 370, coupled with a few consecutive hits with my Veracs. I won with 13 lifepoints. That was the biggest Dragon Dagger Special Attack I've ever seen!
I duelled lilmk more, winning all of them with the exception of one, when we turned off Special Attacks. Soon, Calcrulz invited me to duel with him in Free-to-play. I said good-bye to lilmk and entered World 135. I donned my Full Rune and waited patiently for Calcrulz, who unfortunately suffered a computer crash. Finally, he was here, all ready to go!
We fought, and although he had Protect from Melee on, I still won. He was only level 77 mind you, so it came as no surprise. We did a couple more battles, before I suggested a magical battle! I sold some Death Runes and Fire Runes to him, and we started! I didn't have any Wizard Robes unfortunately, so I was stuck with just a Staff of Air. We both had Fire Blast to use, but because I had level 88 Magic, I had a much higher defence. I won that battle too.
In the final one, I didn't use any prayers, and I switched my attack mode off of accurate. I watched in amazement as I was nearly killed my Calcrulz! I managed to win though, with only 100 lifepoints to spare.
We sat in the Waiting Room then, performing random emotes. Calcrulz is a free-to-play pure, and I find that really respectable. I don't think I could have stood being free-to-play for that long!
We headed to the Mining Guild to check the bots, and sure enough, it was packed with them. We headed into the Resource Dungeon for refuge. We waded in nostalgia about the old days. For me, that was back when I struggled to get even one skill to level 60, and the Grand Exchange was brand new.
We chatted for a good long while, Calcrulz and I. But before I knew it, it was time to log off.
Thanks for reading!
Good night!

First of all, a big thank you to everyone who has voted for me in the Skills Chat Lounge competition! I really appreciate it!
I logged on today, and realized that it was Wednesday! If Lion 0fJudah's Corporeal Beast event was going to be on the weekend, I needed to hurry up and get Summer's End over with! I read up on it first, and was getting nervous before I already started. The guide that I always use for quests, Runescape Wiki, stated that I was almost guaranteed to die. That wasn't very welcoming...
I gathered the items needed and started the quest. I was quite curious as to what was going to happen to Summer and her family... Only the quest would tell!
This quest was pure agony, plain and simple. It actually rivals Mourning's End Part 2 in frustration. I don't want to give out storyline spoilers, but I've got to explain the agony I was going through.
Most of this quest took place in a cave in the Wilderness, where you were attempting to defeat the Corporeal Beast. There were three rooms in this cave, each with their own challenges. In the first room, I was required to chop logs from roots that sprouted from the walls all around the room, and then stash the logs on pyre sites. I needed to fill three pyre sites, and each site required five logs. So in total, I needed to cut fifteen logs. Sounds easy? No.
To complicate everything, the Corporeal Beast stood in the centre, constantly attacking you with its Ranged attacks. These attacks would split into three smaller parts upon impact, and each of these could deal massive damage. Just being hit by one of the smaller parts could damage you for 100+ damage, while the bigger part could hit as high as 300+.

I started running about, chopping the logs, all the while dodging the attacks. No prayer or armour could protect you from these attacks, so I had to be constantly on the run.
Finally, I had gathered fifteen logs! I started the task of placing them in the pyre pits, still dodging the attacks. After a while, I had placed all of them! But right as I was about to figure out how to light them, I was hit head on with an attack.
Death #1.
I respawned in Edgeville, where I quickly ran to the east to loot my grave. Unfortunately, this quest doesn't save save your progress concerning logs, so I was forced to spend another century collecting them all again!
Apparently learning nothing from my previous failure, I started collecting the fifteen logs again. As I started placing the logs, I realized what a predicament I was in. I placed them all this time, and was still alive! I rn back and forth, timing it just right so that I could light the fires between attacks. I had lit two of the three, when I was suddenly hit by an attack! I was dead.
Death #2.
Again, I ran to the east and looted my grave. I ran to the Western Varrock Bank and withdrew more food. Back into the chamber, I gathered another five logs, and lit the pyre pit, right when an attack hit me with all of its power. Thankfully, a cutscene started, saving my life! I was now into the second room!
In this room, I was required to wait for the Dark Core to escape the beast, and lure it over to me. As fast as I could, I would lure it close to me, but not to me, and dig a hole right in front of it on a pre-determined digsite. This was MUCH more difficult than I had anticipated. The Corporeal Beast would attempt to reclaim its core as soon as it escaped, so I had to move quickly. Unfortunately, if I was too far away, the Dark Core wouldn't move, and would get reclaimed by its master.
I had to capture it in a hole three times. The first time came easily, but the rest... were different.

While I waited for the Dark Core to escape, I would run around the circumference of the room, dodging the attacks. It seemed like ages before the Dark Core would come. And when it did, it wouldn't move towards me! I was forced to watch it get reclaimed by the Corporeal Beast.
I tried for a long time, and eventually succumbed to the constant attacks.
Death #3.
Same old story, I reclaimed my items and got more food. Back into the room, I tried again. I just couldn't seem to get the hang of luring the Dark Core. It would always just sit there, and then get reclaimed. I ran for ages, before dying yet again!
Death #4.
I entered the chamber AGAIN, determined to get it. I just could not seem to do it though. I tried for a long time, before finally realizing that I wasn't close enough to the Dark Core. After that, I had an easier time and managed to capture it twice. Onto the third and final room!
In this room, there were five graves in a circle, along with three spirits. These spirits were coloured red, blue and yellow. The spirits moved from grave to grave randomly, while the Corporeal Beast stood in the centre. When the beast charged an attack, it would glow a colour. I would then have to attempt to bless the grave that that colour of spirit was under before the beast had released its attack. This was incredibly difficult! Unfortunately, in this room, the attacks exploded upon impact, and I died instantly.
Death #5.
I came back, and after Joshyway explained to me what I was supposed to be doing, I tried again. My strategy was to track one spirit, and wait for the beast to use that colour of attack before blessing the grave. I got the blue spirit done first try! A couple rounds later, I got the red spirit done too! Now for the yellow one.
This was ridiculous. I followed the yellow spirit around for ages, waiting for a yellow attack. But all that ever came was blue and red.

In fact, after running around for five minutes, I died, still yellowless.
Death #6.
I returned. This quest was really starting to get frustrating! I followed the yellow spirit for ages, and finally, a yellow attack came! But the spirit had moved on to the opposite side of the room, and I didn't get to it in time. This happened repeatedly, annoying me more and more. My frustration went through an irritation phase, and then stayed in a state of hysteria. I wasn't having fun anymore.
I died again.
Death #7.
This whole dying thing was getting really old. I claimed my items again, got more food and entered the chamber again. I tracked the cursed yellow spirit for ages, and finally, I blessed it. A cutscene or two later, I had completed Summer's End.
The relief was incredible! I was laughing at this point, in pure relief that the horrible ordeal was over. And it only took me two and a half hours
At least I could go to Corporeal Beast events!
I sat in the East Varrock Bank, chatting with players. Camdozaal PMed me sometime later, asking me to loan him my Dragonfire Shield. He offered to loan me his Zamorak Spear and Amulet of Fury in compensation! Well didn't that work out nicely... Camdozaal needed the Dragonfire Shield until Saturday, which was the proposed date for the Corporeal Beast event with Lion 0fJudah. And a Zamorak Spear and Amulet of Fury were just what I needed!
I met Camdozaal at the Grand Exchange fountain, where I expelled the built up fire within, rendering the shield tradeable. We got our items, and chatted for a bit. Eventually though, I said good-bye to him and ran off to the Grand Exchange. Time to do some Mining! I grabbed my mining gear and took a quick minecart ride down to White Wolf Mountain, where I mined in the Living Rock Caverns for the rest of my time playing.
Only 199,000xp until level 96 Mining!
Thanks for reading!
Good night!

Hi everyone!
Again, thank you to everyone who showed their support in the Skills Chat Lounge I appreciate it!
Unfortuntely, I didn't get to play too much today. I was very busy with "that lame flash game called life" as Dr Epic Pwn puts it, going out on errands and such. I did get to log on for a bit though!
This entire time I was Mining, running from each Concentrated Gold Rock to the next. Not really anything happened... Although, as I was looking around Youtube, I found one particular video that caught my eye.
The video featured three Mining Golds clanmates lip syncing the song "Super Bass" by Nicki Minaj! There were two males and a female. I knew which one Apu was, and so Em must have been the other. But who was the female? She had dark hair, and I remembered ForeverMandy mentioning something about her having black hair. I asked her about it, but she denied it quickly. Too quickly.
After a nice big clan discussion, ForeverMandy finally confessed to the video! So here it was, a lip sync video with ForeverMandy, Em and Apu. It's funny, I always picture players in real life differently than they really are. And don't tell me you don't sometimes wonder what the player you're chatting to looks like; everyone does. In fact, when you see the player in a video, you almost feel like you have a stronger connection to that player... Not quite sure why.
That was all that really happened today Lion 0fJudah's Corporeal Beast mass is on Saturday! 150k to 96 Mining!
Good night! :D
