Apparently the only way to get this was to either grow it from a Gout Tuber or steal it from the Trolls in Trollheim (only if you had completed Eadgar's Ruse). Well I hadn't done Eadgar's Ruse yet, so I guess my only option was to buy a Gout Tuber and grow it.
I went to the Grand Exchange and put in an offer for one Gout Tuber, Mid Price. Nothing happened. Now I like my items to buy instantly, so I withdrew my offer and put it in 10k higher. Nothing still. Eventually, I broke down and put in an offer 40k higher than what it was worth. Finally, it bought. Quite the trouble for one measly tuber!
I withdrew my Ectophial and teleported to the Ectofuntus. From there, I ran west to the Herb patch. I still had a Toadflax there from a long time ago, so I picked it and lathered the patch with compost. Then I planted the Gout Tuber... Or at least tried to. Turns out you need to complete Eadgar's Ruse to plant a Gout Tuber! Well that sucked...
I cleaned all of my Toadflax that I had just picked and got level 46 Herblore!
Using the Ectophial to teleport me back to the Ectofuntus, I ran into Port Phasmatys and deposited all those items I needed for Dream Mentor. I didn't really have enough time to complete a quest, so I decided to just gather the items for Eadgar's Ruse for tomorrow. I was still on Lunar Magics, so I withdrew my Seal of Passafe and Home teleported to Lunar Isle. I switched my spellbook and teleported to Varrock. I began gathering the new items. There was nothing particulary exotic, so I had little trouble accumulating all the items.
Finally, "blowin mines" wanted the invite. I switched to his world, world 60, and met him in the Draynor Bank. New recruit for Mining Golds!
Eadgar's Ruse unlocks the Trollheim teleport as well, and I needed that for my trips to the God Wars Dungeon. I was meaning to do this quest eventually anyways, so this is a good thing.
I teleported to Falador and logged off for the night.
Thanks for reading!
Good night! :)

So today I logged on and was right where I left off, Falador. I had all my items ready for the quest Eadgar's Ruse, so I ran to Taverly and started the quest. I'm not going to spoil any of the plot of course; that would just be mean! All I'm going to say is that during the last part of the quest, when you are trying to get the Goutweed, you need to go through a maze which is being patrolled by guards: a little like Sorceress's Garden.
I tried and failed so many times to get to the end... I began to create a systematic pattern in which to successfully bypass the guards. After a while, I finally got to the end, where I picked up my Goutweed. You are automatically kick out once you get one, so then I had to redo the entire maze! Of course, by this time, I had made a pretty solid strategy as to how to complete it, so I picked up my second Goutweed (For Dream Mentor) with ease.
TheSpiffiest had PMed me when I was about halfway through the quest, and he was offering to sell the Gold Amulets again. I had finally finished the quest, so we decided to meet in Varrock Square, on his world. I ran to Varrock Square and logged out to the Lobby. When I tried to switch to TheSpiffiest's world though, it logged me out completely! Well, no worries. I tried to log back on to the Lobby, but was struck with the message "You have not yet logged out from your account." Uh oh.
Panic filled me. I was wearing my Abyssal Whip and Bandos Chestplate! I thought about all that time it took for me to save up enough money to buy it. I couldn't even bring myself to imagine losing it. Yet I did. Was it possible that a hacker somewhere out there in the world had been watching me, waiting for me to log off with my Bandos Chestplate, just so that they could force me to log off and steal my items? I didn't think so... I hoped not.
I tried to log back on again, and was prompted with the message again. This had happened before, but that was while I was in the Lobby. I tried again.

Still Nothing. I walked away from my computer, thinking about what I would do if I had indeed been hacked. Would I quit? Would I just start rebuilding? The answer was a mixture of both. I would probably just quit Runescape for a while, and then come back and start rebuilding. I tried to log on again. Still nothing. I was pretty certain I had been hacked now. I walked away and came back about five minutes later. I clicked Log In. I entered the lobby.
I was a little scared to enter a world. What would I do if I logged on and saw my avatar's items completely gone? I seriously doubted that would happen... I had never gone to any sketchy websites, nor told my p-word to anyone. Yet the fright persisted. I talked in my clan for a while, and eventually summoned up the courage to log on. I held my breath and nervously waited for the screen to load.
I looked at my character and... Everything was gone. The Bandos Chestplate, everything. All that hard work... Gone.
Nah, I'm kidding. Everything was there, all safe and sound. The relief was incredible! I immediately deposited everything, still a little anxious. I met up with TheSpiffiest and I followed him through Varrock to a deserted house. There, I gave him my Gold Amulets and he gave me his Brackish Blade. He completed the exchange, and we swapped items. I thanked him, and prepared myself for Dream Mentor.
I got all the necessary items and made my way to Lunar Isle. I went to the bank and asked the players there for any advice on killing the level 343 monster "The Inadequate". I was a little scared of this thing; It was level 343, and you were not able to use Prayers throughout the battle. And after that, you had to fight three other bosses, all without rest.
They gave me conficting advice. One guy said to use range, another said magic, another said melee. Well Ranged was out of the picture... My Ranged level fails! It was between melee and Magic, although I was leaning towards melee.

I looked it up on Runescape Wiki. They were giving all sorts of advice, from using Blood Spells to using a Rune Crossbow. I gave it a lot of thought. I definitely didn't want to die in a dream land. After a long time, I made my decision. I was going to use Blood Blitz on the bosses. I was on Lunar Magics, so I withdrew an Amulet of Glory and teleported to Al Kharid.
I was on my way to the Bedabin Camp via Carpet Ride when Sir Captor PMed me. He complimented me on my blog, and asked if he could join Mining Golds. Well I was kind of in the middle of a desert, and he was in Draynor, pickpocketing Master Farmers. I told him to wait just a few minutes, and I would be right there. As I made my way to the Pyramid, I chatted with Sir Captor. He was new to Member's, so he had a lot of questions. I answered them all, and finally switched my spellbook. I used the Amulet of Glory and teleported to Draynor Village. Pretty spooky place! The graphics team certainly made it look a lot scarier!
I tried to switch worlds, but yet again, I was logged out. This time though, I didn't panic at all. I waited a few minutes and logged back into Runescape, this time on Sir Captor's world. I invited him to Mining Golds!
I still had a quest to do, so I ran to the bank and withdrew a House teletab. That brought me to Relleka, where I boarded a ship to Lunar Isle. There, I ran north, past the Livid Gardens (I took a peek in there), and into the dungeon. Again, I'm not going to spoil any of the quest, but I really enjoyed it.
After a while, the boss battles came. I was honestly quite scared. I dawned my Mystic Robes and brought out my runes; Blood Blitz at the ready! I entered the Dream Land and the fightinf commensed! I thought I was going to be eating every few seconds, but I had seriously underestimated the power of Blood Blitz. I was hitting 200's almost every hit, and I killed the first boss quite quickly. The rest of the bosses followed suit.

Before I knew it, I was done the quest! I got 47 Herblore as well! I have to say, I really enjoyed Dream Mentor. Usually I fly through the text, not caring about the storyline. But this was different. I read each and every chatbox, and immersed myself in the story. I can honestly say that Dream Mentor was one of the few quests that I really enjoyed. When I finished One Small Favour, I said that that was my favourite quest. Dream Mentor takes the title, hands down.
Well, it was finally done. I could finally do Plank Make! And finally, I didn't have to use the Seal of Passage anymore! I prayed at the Astral Altar to switch to Lunar Magics, and used a teletab to Varrock. I did some calulations, and I decided that I was going to use the Nature Runes I already had first, then go make more. I bought my Mahogany Logs, and put them in my inventory. I was so excited! I compared the prices of the logs to the plank, and saw that I was going to make a fortune! I tried to use Plank Make... But nothing happened. Then I saw the message. "You need 1,050 coins to do this".
Oh. Well. That was disappointing. The crusching disappointment was so huge that I actually laughed out loud. This was actually pretty funny. I went through all this trouble, did all these quests just because I thought I was going to make a huge profit off of Plank Make. I guess if something seems too good to be true, it is.
So I guess I'll be sticking with String Jewelleryuntil level 94. I did a calculation to see how many Astral Runes I would have to make. 104,000 of them! There was one problem though. There was no way I would have enough money to buy all that Pure Essence and Gold Amulets. I decided I would just have to do each level individually.
I didn't feel like Runecrafting right then though. Sir Captor was at Castle Wars, and he wanted a teleport to Varrock. I switched worlds, used a Ring of Dueling and met up with him. I gave him a Varrock teletab, and he was off.

I felt like lending an item out... Lion0f Judah was online, and he usually liked borrowing my Bandos Chestplate. I PMed him, asking him if he wanted to borrow if for free. He did, and I was to meet him on his world at the Soul Wars bank. After world hopping, I met with him and tried to lend it to him. Apparently, he had already borrowed an item. I declined the trade and told him. He ran to the bank and did something (not sure what... probably discarded the item), and we traded again. I put it up for six hours, and accepted. I said thanks, as did he, and I exited the Soul Wars. I ran to the Edgeville bank, where I logged off for the night.

Well thanks for reading today's entry! I hope you enjoyed it!
Good night!

Hi guys! I've got some bad news and some really bad news:
Ok here goes the bad news: My membership ran out! I'm going to have to renew it for the clan Mining challenge!
And here is the really bad news: I didn't have enough time to write a blog entry today There. I said it. Now before you guys start shaking your heads in disappointment, I'll assure you that I'll have an entry for tomorrow FOR SURE!
So as you may/may not know, there is a clan challenge on May 28-29 for the Mining skill. This is a no-bonus competition, and whichever clan gains the most experience in Mining (and Smithing) gets to customize their Clan Logo. So as a good clanmate, I am going to be Mining for a lot of the weekend. Unfortunately, mining tends to make really boring blog entries.
Usually when an entry is too boring, I talk about my opinion on recent updates or my epic fails as a noob. This is where you guys come in! What should I write about in the next few blog entries? If absolutely no one answers, then I will of course, decide on my own. But I thought this may be a good opportunity for you guys to find out a little bit about the Blundering Adventurer, Grimwold2.
If you comment, thanks for the output! If not... I'll have to think of a punishment .

So today was the beginning of the Mining and Smithing Clan Challenge! I was already at the Living Rock Caverns, so I mined as usual. After a while, a clanmate, Scret, offered to lend his Dragon Pickaxe out. He was Smithing, so he had no use of it. I climbed up the rope ladder and ran around to the west, where I took a mine cart to Keldagrim. From there, I took another mine cart to the Grand Exchange.
I met up with Scret, and he lent it to me for six hours. I thanked him and returned to the Living Rock Caverns for some more grueling Mining. The rules for this competition were really strict. Absolutely no experience boosting items were allowed, and that included effigies and experience lamps. Probably the most annoying restriction was the 65 minute rule. This rule dictated that you had to play on one world, without loging out for 65 minutes for youe experience to count towards the competition. That was extremely annoying, especially since I had to go to the bathroom about 45 minutes in.
It started out as just a small sensation. Oh, I could wait 20 minutes. But seconds grew to minutes, minutes grew to hours... Man, I had to go to the washroom! Only 15 minutes left... I seriously did not want all that experience to go to waste. I felt like a Kindergartener, fidgeting around, trying to hold it in. I tried all sorts of things for that 15 minutes, from push ups to the good old "dance". The 15 minutes shrank to 5. I was pulling my hair out! That little tiny part of my body felt like it was about to explode! Finally, mercifully, I reached the 65 minute mark. I practically flew to the washroom.
So after relieving myself (tears of relief), I started Mining again. After quite some time, Poonibble PMed me. He complimented me about my blog (Thanks! ) and asked for a little information about Mining Golds. I explained to him what we did, and a little of our background.

He decided that he wanted to join, so I once again ran to the mine carts and took a ride to Keldagrim (almost said on the Reading Raildroad ). I took another to the Grand Exchange and then realized that I couldn't log off becuase of that silly 65 minute rule. I asked Poonibble to switch to my world, and thankfully, he did. When I saw the green dot appear, I ran over to him and invited him. I explained to him the Mining/Smithing Clan Challenge, just in case he was interested in taking part in it. He decided that he didn't want to, so I made my way back to the Living Rock caverns again. I stayed there for quite a while, and not really anything happened. So I think I'll think back to the very first mini-game I ever tried...
I was free to play to the time, and I was curious as to how the Fist of Guthix worked. I had a really low Magic level, and someone had told me that the Fist of Guthix was a good way to train it. I ran into the Wilderness, wary of Revenants. Not seeing any, I entered the dungeon and ran over to Fiona. She explained the mini-game, and after listening to the whole tutorial three times, I felt confident that I knew what I was doing. I entered the Waiting Room and waited for a match. I didn't know about "Official Worlds" at that time, so I was beginning to wonder why no one was coming into the Waiting Room with me. I got fed up eventually, and decided to switch worlds. I was about to enter another world when I spotted a "Fist of Guthix" world. I clicked that and logged into it.
I was astonished at the amount of players there! I went back into to Waiting Room, and was almost instanty paired with another player. I entered the arena. I was a little confused at first. From the tutorial, I had thought that I would be in a separate arena from everyone else; an arena with just me and my opponent.

Well that definitely wasn't the case! I looked around, shocked at the amount of players there! I was the Hunter, and I was hunting a player named something like "Jdog220". I ran around, my spells at the ready. I spotted a golden arrow up in the mini-map, so I followed it to the centre of the arena. There were tons of people there, and I listened to the sounds of the magical attacks. I began right clicking through the crowd, determined to find Jdog220. I searched for a really long time, but despite my best efforts, I couldn't find him! (I didn't see the gold arrow in the actual arena). I right clicked so many times, I thought maybe he had quite or something. After an eternity, the timer ran out, and we reversed roles. I was excited to start tryng to evade the Hunter, but after only a few seconds, Jdog220 quit the match.
Back in the Living Rock Caverns, nothing was happenng as usual. I saw some poor player's health bar at almost nothing, and almost felt like telling him to move. Then I realized that that poor player was me! I was down to 140 lifepoints! I ran around to the opposite side of the rock, and mined to fill the rest of my inventory. I had regained only 10 lifepoints. I really didn't want to die; I would lose my borrowed Dragon Pickaxe! I turned on Protect from Missiles and made a dash for the bank. I deposited, and climbed up the rope ladder. Usually when I get damaged within the Living Rock Caverns, I just continue to mine and hope that I don't die. But Seriousruss had mentioned using the Monastery to heal. I had known it was there and that the monks could heal you, but I had never actually considered going there.
I ran there (not as far as I thought), and healed myself back to 800 lifepoints. I ran back to the Living Rock Caverns, and as soon as my feet hit the ground, a level 124 Living Rock Striker attacked me, dealing 100 damage. I ran to a mine deposit, and my health dropped to about half.
