Short History: A pagan from a Baltic land, he comes from the bajorai, a term used to refer to the nobility. As the youngest sibling of the family, and thus having little to no inheritance, he was forced to seek his fortune abroad as a well-equipped adventurer ever since a young man, serving as a bodyguard or mercenary for various voivodes (warlords), fighting minor battles for them, knowing loss and victory, and being a hunter and woodsman when things did not go so well. A few times, he even watched over the construction of siege engines to use against walls and towers, making his experience broad and versatile.
He gained success and eventually purchased an old holk, a kind of large flat-bottomed clinker-built boat, which he used for trade, seafaring, piracy, and raiding with his companions of adventurers like himself. Eventually, his crew disbanded once the holk was too old and beyond repair, scuppered ceremonially, and at that, the adventurers went their separate ways. Algirdas now seeks further adventures in Daralt. He plans to eventually become a vassal when age or wounds prevents adventuring.
Other: Experienced in seafaring, raiding, piracy, hunting, skirmishing, battles, and small-scale siegecraft, Algirdas is a valuable leader and warrior for both land and sea despite no longer having a company or boat. He is accustomed to Atlantic waters, knowing how to maneuver ships for evading ice bergs, drifting sea ice, and for boarding other ships. He was never famous.
If the Sorusian Empire have ships with rams, Algirdas has no experience of ramming, nor the use of cannons (due to coming from an old-fashioned pagan culture), and he does not know if this island or continent of Maphis knows much about him, having done all of his adventure in Baltic regions and Atlantic waters faraway. Presumably, he is currently at the Job Board.
