Pausing, for she knew that, as was normal, she was rambling, Eleria took a breath and continued, "
Your assumptions are correct, however. I could likely find details of the situation in the books, but they saw fit to allow you to give an account in person before giving me the account in words. Because of that, I am obliged to ask: what has changed, and what significance does this have apart from the obvious consequences?
"

((I'll post on ECC sometime soon as well. It's just taking me longer than normal to figure out what I should do for it, what with the situation being what it is and all.))
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Thankfully, Sol was able to understand what Elatha had said, so he nods his head in response to his statement. Watching the other god disappear, Sol takes one last look around the crumbling world with a hint of sadness before he follows after Elatha, closing his eyes to see if he could do what the other god had done. And indeed, while he isn't aware how, he disappears from the crumbling realm and reappears shortly behind Elatha.

Stumbling a bit, Sol opens his eyes in wonder as he looks around at his new surroundings. Everything around him looked so different compared to what he was used to. Walking forwards towards what he could feel was the owner of this place, and the one he had followed here, he continues to look around and absorb as much information about the place as he can. While he may not know what a majority of the things he was looking at were, that didn't mean he didn't want to.

Eventually though, he finds himself in the meeting room with Randell and Elatha. Figuring that he would find out more by not interrupting, he remains standing and silent.

((Yeah, I've been waiting for someone else to post here before I did. But, I haven't abandoned this thread yet. It really seems like it will be awesome.))

((Sukiringu, beautifully written bio. Happy to include you. If you haven’t already, I’* look up a goddess called the Morrigan. She’s a cletic death/war goddess I plan to include in this story, and your character would probably be very familiar with her and her sisters))

Quick synopsis of everything thus far:

The Eonfold, which is all times, and places, was created in the “beginning” by ancient gods that now sleep in sealed off realms of their own. The First ancient god thought that humanity would survive until the end of the Eonfold. The Second thought the opposite and they made a bet on the subject the stakes of which are unknown but apparently very severe.

Lately, gods have been dying, which means that their gifts and such, cannot be given to mortality. These deaths of minor gods seem to be the first step in a plan to destroy mortal life.

One goddess, Bastet, called a meeting of gods (seemingly chosen by one of the murdered gods) to discuss a plan of action against the murders, and also find who is responsible for them.

During the meeting, Bastet’s realm was attacked by a “world eating” monster called Apep- a being usually kept under control by the god Set.
Before anyone could come to a conclusion about what should be done, Bastet’s world, and by proxy her physical form, were destroyed.

Elatha and Sol followed Randell to his realm to try and formulate a plan while Eleria went to her own world to try and learn about what had become of Set.

I’d suggest that we act as though Grey were at Bastet’s meeting. Wherever you choose to place her now is up to you, but if you need suggestions, let me know.))

Set seemed to swirl like smoke as he turned and took a place to sit across from Eleria.
“They say there are three world eating serpents,” he began, though he imagined Eleria was already familiar with each of them. *Apep is the weakest of the three, but it is chaos incarnate. It is also the only one that was left free* You see, I control it, and keep it from destroying as it wishes. But Apep was never bound anywhere.”

As he spoke, pictures formed behind him like a ghostly mirage- the sun, drawn by a incredible and surreal vehicle like a ship or a chariot. Apep swimming through space around it- a black serpent like creature barely visible amidst light and smoke.

“The other two serpents were too strong to be left alone,” Set said. “Nodhogg was locked below the roots of the Yggd*asil- Odin’s great empire of worlds within the Eonfold. The Red Dragon was placed in a different kind of prison… a very unique place. Difficult even for our kind to enter.”

He hummed thoughtfully as the images swirled into a tree, then a vast and endless cold sea.
They melted behind him and became nothing.

“My link to Apep is broken… I know not how,” he said softly. “But I imagine whoever is responsible will now go after the other two world eaters. If you’re looking for culprits… Osiris and our sister, his wife Isis, have always been enemies of mine. They are also close to me in ways that none can understand. It is possible that they could influence my link to Apep** he looked sadly past Eleria. “A part of me is gone. I will be weak until Apep returns, or else I would offer you more help than I have.”

He stood, again, moving more like smoke than a body.
“And now I have a question for my host,” he said. “Why are you involving yourself? Do you not think it likely that whatever fate is soon to occur, was already written down when the Eonfold first began? Do you not fear the consequences of fighting against this tide? You needn’t answer if you do not wish to. Simply a thought I had..."

[[Thank you! :) I'll get started right away. About that Celtic goddess, I'll make sure to look her up!]]

“Return to me, my darling,”
She holds out her hand, splaying her fingers and letting a dry, brittle pine needle crumble from her hand. A raven flies by a thick column of black smoke, its eyes bulging out of its sockets, its thin, serrated beak inclined to the dim red sky of Grey’s realm.

Grey’s scout comes to a landing in the dim red sky of her realm, sinking its claws into her wrist as it swoops down from flight, and its caw is enough to alert her of the happenings in Bastet’s realm.

“The deities are dying like flies, aren’t they?”
She strokes the four-eyed raven’s black, glossy wings as it peers up at her and caws.

The raven caws once more, snapping its beak. The goddess turns on her heel, stepping over the ash pile of the pine needle and a land of waste and neglect, and remarks,
“A beautiful plant, that was. An extreme climate that epitomises Hell is no place for such soft, beautiful things. It changes them, scorches them.”

A caw from the raven gives rise to Grey’s head, her eyes glancing over the landscape. Hills charred black line the horizon, columns of smoke hovering over them. Pits of magma bubbled metres away, swallowing pieces of black land as water does a shore of sand.

She takes another pace, a graceful, delicate step, and the goddess is at the opposite side of her realm, past the bottomless pit that separates the Wasteland and the Garden.

“I need a favour of you,”
she mumbles at the raven, her voice low.
“The first few dead gods have made me cautious, and patrolling the realms without a report has become a death wish. Fly, my dear raven, and I’ll be close behind you.”

The raven rises, disappearing into the clear sky. It makes an attempt to enter the realm of Randell and seek out those of highest authority, and if it’s permitted the goddess Grey is at its back.

NAME(S): Aequitas, Justice, The Blind God.

GENDER(S): Gender-fluid. Although often represented as a female when interacting with non-gods, Aequitas prefers a male figure when interacting with other gods. The female figure facing the mortals was chosen in order to reflect compassion and to ease the sentencing passed upon them. But when confronted with other gods, Aequitas relies on the male figure in order to portray an image of power and mystery. (Not that a female image would embody that any less, but these traits are generally associated as such)

AGE: Justice is one of the oldest gods in existence, preceding the birth of Mars himself. It is rumored her creation followed the birth of the first humans. The idea of Justice is one as old as time itself. She sprung forth from the first human interaction, and has reigned ever since. Humanity’s first thoughts toyed with the idea of what was “just” and what is “unjust”. The differences of opinion orchestrated the waging of wars and the ignition of century long feuds.

AFFILIATION(S)/PURPOSE(S): Justice is the main drive behind this god. Often variant in it’s form, all conscious living beings have an idea of what Justice represents. Though the debate concerning the fundamentals for which it should stands, rages on, little attention paid to those claims by this god. In matter of dispute between mortals, the verdict given is final. Though many recognize the hand of Justice, some contest it, claiming to be unjust. Those who do, persist not, for Justice finds them.

FORM(S): No matter whether amongst humans or gods, there is one trait which persists for Justice, her blindness. It is often believed that his female representation wears a blindfold in order to deny visual influence in matters of justice, but that belief is false. Justice never had eyes to begin with. The blindfold is merely an agent, meant to protect the humans from the foreign. Aequitas has no eyes. Never has and never will. Justice was impartial from the

from the beginning, relying purely on his beliefs.

Human Interaction: Justice chooses to represented herself in the form of a white female. She crowns herself with glorious chestnut locks, falling shoulder height. Clothed in a pure white toga, she is armed with a balance scale, meant to weight right and wrong, truth and lies. A snow-white blindfold covers her “eyes”, the significance broadcasting purity in impartiality. Her skin would put even the proudest tusked mammals to shame, for it embodies the purest color of ivory. Delicate as the last falling leaf of autumn, Justice presents itself as just no matter the circumstance. She can bring both winter or summer to those under her counsel. Justice stands a mere five feet and six inches tall in this “human” adaptation form. Her appearance resembles that of a twenty year old female.

God Interaction: Aequitas shrouds himself in darkness, a hood hovering over the blindfold covering his eyes sockets, a shroud covering the rest of his body, often leaving onlookers to guess his physical features. Recognized by most as the Reaper’s Cloak, the very fabric of the abyss was used in its crafting. Though the god can levitate, he is often seen walking, for justice is patient. With every step, the wind unveils tone muscles hidden beyond the garments. Towering over most, he stand in at eleven feet. Onyx hair crests his scalp, leaving onlookers in awe of the void held within. His hair reaches the edge of his nose, often covering his eye sockets like a raging waterfall . He appears ghostly to most, his skin showing a darker blue tone, yet transparent, an homage to the fleeting idea of justice amongst the gods. His appearance resembles that of a twenty year old male.

POWERS(S): The power to rule over what is just have been granted to Aequitas. Although this is mostly concerned with the matters of mortals, other gods can seek his guidance in matters of dispute. Justice has the power to grant restitution and retribution based on her judgements. Humans who subject themselves to her will know her to be fair and are willing to accept the consequences of their actions, putting their lives between her hands.

Human Interaction: When presiding over the cases brought before her, Justice materializes her absolute balance scale. Adorned with diamond and dressed in gold, the scale embodies the very idea of justice. Claims and counter arguments submitted before the goddess take form and weigh on the scale. When the hearing ends, one side holds heavier, this decides the fate of the encounter. Cases where death is the sentence bring to light a darker side lady of Justice. The flesh on her head immediately combusts into fire, unraveling her skull enclosed in a sea of white flames. Ashen wings of angels burst forth from her back, tearing skin and garment in the process. Flapping gracefully, the wings elevates Justice above her court. Her left hand firmly collapsed around the absolute balance scale. There, with a voice loud enough to resonate through the souls of the dead, she passes down her judgment. As her last words slip forth from her tongue, a sword arises in her right hand, cloaked in the crimson flames which birthed it. Direct eye contact with her sockets imbeds the spirit with a paralyzing effect and acceptance of one’s fate. Sentencing is swift and painless, the flames of redemption combust the target upon impact. Her skull appearance is meant to show humans that decisions can have mortal impact. Her wings portray the essence that no one is above the law. Whilst her flaming sword represents the purification brought through fire. Justice symbolizes a fair law, passed down justly, but harshly at times.

In her down time, Justice enjoys embodying a snow owl, and prowling around towns.

God Interaction: Interactions with other gods is tricky, as gods generally do not have power over each other, yet he is revered as a source of wisdom and fairness in the resolution of conflicts. This grants him two states of empowerment: The one he has granted him by those who seek his counsel, and his natural powers. When gods come to him and seek justice, Aequitas can conjure up a contract, binding even to the gods. In this mandatory contract, the consenting gods promise to submit to the judgement reached, if they break the contract, Aequitas is granted a hold over them, power over the gods themselves. This power, however, is defined in the contract by the complaining parties. For example, both parties could agree that the defeated party be exiled temporarily, Aequitas would then be granted the power to force exile over said party.
His own power takes a different form. He only reveals his powers when confronted or challenged by a concept or god which aims to chip away at the integrity for which he stands. Like Justice, his skull becomes engulfed with flames, his flames differ from his human counterpart’s due to their darker color. The void filling his eye sockets does not inspire acceptance, but rather dread and fear for the non-gods. An assemblage of crooked and sharp bones in the shape of wings burst forth from his back. Whilst Justice brings a certain peace in one’s sentencing, Aequitas seeks to terrify and immobilize. This god has little interest in fair or long fights, he aims to be swift and dispatch of his opponents with near immediacy. His cloak gives creates a dark fog with every movement, helping him stay unseen by the enemy. Justice is swift, which means he is granted supernatural speed and agility. The flesh on his arms combusts, leaving his muscles exposed, but encased in the same black fire hugging his skull.
