Being a nobleman and famous figure around the Kingdom of Asgarnia, he has to be polite in whatever situation he is in. His father taught him that.

Well, I was born in the desert Al-Kharid, but I grew up in this city. My family owns some business in this city, mainly in gold trading, crafting and mining activities. Falador is a nice city, very welcoming to tourists. The Order of the White Knights protect all of us in Falador. Sir Amik, personally a friend of mine, is mainly in charge of the city. It's peaceful here, trades and activities flourished under regulations.
He continued.

Like all settlements throughout Gielienor, we all have our worries and enemies to defend from. But the white knights are doing a pretty good job defending our beautiful city. You can visit the knights' headquarter in the gigantous Falador Castle. It's right in the centre of the city, you wouldn't miss it. You can also visit the huge garden near East Falador. Other than that, feel free to roam around and do some shopping, Falador is well known to be a trading hub, with so much to see and buy. Maces, shields, gems, chainbody, anything you want.

Even though it doesn't affect me, but I do concern about the recent tightening grip and increased taxes for the citizens. They barely have enough, yet they still need to pay for the white knights' war. I guess that's the price of security and order. But they don't need to know that, they are but visitors and adventurers who only visit the city once in a while and then leave with nothing but footsteps. I should let them keep their good first impression of this beautiful city. We don't need more outsiders knowing this man-made plague and stop coming. It will worsen trade and even worse life for the citizens who depend on tourism. We don't need another civil war too.
Malcolinus thought to himself.

Aranel smirked behind her face cloth, only detectable by the slight crinkle around her eyes, as the man tried to guess where she was from.
"No. I am not from Taverly, just passing through."
She let out a small melodious laugh.
"And I would be surprised if you knew of the god I worship."

The man began to introduce himself as she listened intently as he spoke. Aureus gave information freely about the situation here in Falador, but as she already heard from the citizens she knew that he was hiding something.
I wonder if he leaves it out because he is not affected by the decrees due to his friendship with Sir Amik, or if it is because he does not care. I can get no more information here.
Aranel waited until the man was finished talking before she decided to give limited information.
"My name is Aranel Cheyrth. Close friends call me Nel as they typically find my name to be too formal, however, I do prefer Aranel if you please. And I am simply passing through Falador. I came in at the end of the message being delivered in the town center this morning."

Aranel pulled her gloves off her hands revealing slender feminine hands. She grabbed her braid and squeezed the water out onto the floor, allowing it to dry faster in the heat of the furnace. Her cloak was almost completely dry and she was now just waiting on the rain to subside. She looked out the window again and sighed as the rain showed no signs of stopping. She leaned forward onto the counter and rested her chin on her hand, her face mask raising slightly to reveal the bottom of her chin, teasing as to what her face looked like.
There isn't one.

A magical field prevented the crazy girl from receiving a hug. At that, the blonde pauses, not even blinking. Amidst some confusion, the man speaks his mind. The blonde’s eyes move to him but her face remains unmoving.

The man is known as Malcolinus, and offers the girls shelter until the rain passes.

The blonde remains standing, arms apart. She slowly extends her arms, fingertips feeling the veiled lady’s magical field. While she prods at the magical field, the man speaks of his past, the city, his relations, and the situation of the city. Afterwards, the veiled lady speaks of her own past. She is Aranel.

Aranel takes her gloves off and squeezes water out her hair. The blonde stares, mouth slightly open, then grabs her own pigtails and squeezes the water out. She shakes her head, eyes rolling round and around, and her demeanor shifts to more seriousness.

My name’s Two-two,
” she says with a voice lacking spirit. She picks up her heaume and plops it upon her helmet of blonde hair. “
I came back from the Wilderness, because...
” —she sounds like a tower of feminine iron— “
I wanted to take this iron kite shield on the ground, but these angry short guys wanted to bang my face. Some guy in a black robe also threw water at me. It hurt more than the hammers. So I ran away, shouting behind, ‘You don’t wanna mess with me! I’m running away!’ And then, this giant fireball came homing at me. At the same time, I crossed paths with this guy with a blue pastbag, so I threw him in the way of the fireball.
” She clasps her hands behind her back and slowly walks to the side. She spins around and, keeping her hands behind her back, leans against the wall. “
But yes, I would like a place to stay. I don’t think those Chaos Dwarves or that crazy mage would have chased me all the way to Falador. But still, I think keeping low profile, and being with good people, is a good start to stay safe.

Aranel sat by the furnace and was waiting for her hair to dry and the rain outside to stop. While her blond hair was almost dry from the heat, the rain outside showed no signs of stopping anytime soon. The little girl also made an introduction about herself to Malcolinus.
Wilderness? Why would someone even go there. I'd never risk my life there. However, what she spoke of, this is no ordinary girl.

Malcolinus had heard of Chaos Dwarves, probably from his dwarven friends down there in the dwarven mine below Falador, but he has never seen one. He has also never been to the Wilderness. Whatever the little girl said didn't really make much sense to him nor his imagination, but he assumed that with no where to go, this little girl Two-two, she's here to stay.

He noticed that Aranel is not ordinary, not with the sharply defined facial features and unusual height. The woman he sees in Falador, they are usually thin and short. The face and the facial profile Arabel is having, intrigued him to find out more about this lady in front of him. So he made an offer, pointing at her bow that's strapped behind Aranel,
Aranel, I know this is no ordinary bow. I have never seen anything like that before in my life. I assume you're a proficient fighter skilled in archery. You know, Sir Amik Varze, he's always looking out for people who can fight, for warriors. Just a few months ago an adventure came to us and he saved us all in Falador from a powerful weapon of mass destruction owned by the Kinshra Black Knight to the north. He apparently infiltrated and spied the fortress on top of the ice mountain and single-handedly destroyed it. After the job, he was rewarded handsomely with 2500 gold coins and is now known as a hero of Falador enjoying a good reputation among the white knights.

He continued,
If it happened once, it's going to happen again, with this struggle for power. I am just wondering...

If you'd like to, I would like to take you and introduce you personally to Sir Amik. He would definitely need someone like you.

Looking at the elegant, semi-transparant bow, Malcolinus thought that he probably shouldn't miss this opportunity. Even though just a passing adventurer, with enough sense of justice and righteousness, she could be the one to help the people. He hesitated for a moment before continuing,
And oh yes, if you heard the message this morning before stumbling into my workshop, I believe you know a little bit about the situation here. I didn't want to tell you all this at first because you're just a visitor, but if you do happen to meet him and contributed to become an important figure for Falador or the White Knights in the future, I hope you can try and help to deliver us from relentlessly increasing taxes and tightening curfews. I definitely do miss the easier times when everyone in the Kingdom had more freedom, and spare coins to buy jewelleries from me.

With the position I am currently enjoying now, there's not much I can say or do to change his mind. I have hundreds of mouths to feed. My mining license, gold trading and business all depends on him and his associates. There's so much I need to pay for... The struggle against the Kinshra, it's taking it's toll on everyone.

Malcolinus then turned to Two-two,
And as for you, you know you could stay here with me for as long as you like. I have many guest rooms available in the estate. Feel free to stay if you'd like to. Meanwhile, I can also take you along to see Sir Amik when the rain stops, but I think you'd have more business with Sir Tiffy Cashien, the head of recruitment, since you're too young to be a spy.
He laughed as he extended his hands and tried to pinch Two-two's chubby face still covered with baby fat.

Aranel listened as the young girl introduced herself. She smiled behind her mask as the girl told her story of the chaos dwarves. Aranel has had her fair share of altercations with them in the wilderness as well, though lately they have begun to leave her alone on her trips there. Aureus began to speak and correct observations about her bow. It is very rare to see one outside of the elven kingdom, most people don't know where it comes from. The bow just adds to her status as a Merc, as people believe it is a powerful and unique weapon, which it is.

Aureus began to speak on the issues plaguing the city with the taxes and Aranel narrowed her eyes briefly, you would have had to be watching her closly to even see it.
This has to be a trap. He has admitted to a close relationship with Sir Amik. If I was him I would have spies placed around the city listening for discontent or a chance for an overthrow of power. I don't know if I can trust this man.

Aranel stood up and moved to the window, dropping her force feild. The rain had started to ease in its pressure but still showed no signs of stopping. Aranel was trapped here as she didn't want to go back outside into the cold and wet. The streets were barren with faint glows able to be seen through the bleakness, People in their homes warming by fires.

Aranel had a decision to make. If she moves forward and goes to Sir Amik, she might be able to get insider information, but she has a code to upload to only give her services out to people who deserve them. If she stays on the outside to help the people more clearly, Sir Amik might kick her out of the city and she will be hardpressed to get information.

A gust of wind threw the door open beside her and came tearing through the room. It brought in with it some rain. The wind was so strong it dimmed, but did not put out, the furnance. Due to Aranel's proximity to the door, the wind blew her hood off. Aranel let out a soft gasp and reached up to

grab her hood before too much was revealed. Her elven ears peaked out of the hood and Aranel, too late, used her magic to bend the little light that was in the room to cast her in deeper shadow. The wind had settled and the furnace roared to life again but Aranel looked like she was standing in pitch black. She lifted her hood up and covered her head again.
I hope that I was fast enough.
She moved her fingers slightly and the shadows left her, plunging her back into the light.

She moved to the door and closed it, latching the lock to prevent it from opening again. She rested her head against the door and closed her eyes against the stress building in the back of her neck.
"I will make my decision about your proposition when the rain ends."
There isn't one.

Aureus watched intently as Aranel moved towards the window. He was waiting patiently for her answer. He wanted to know, is there a chance she will follow him to meet Sir Amik. Suddenly a gust of wind into the workshop and dimmed the light of the furnace. The wind also blew off Aranel's hood and exposed her head underneath. She let out a soft moan and quickly covered it back. Although Aureus was watching closely at Aranel, every single movement, the dimming light in the workshop and as everything happened in a blink of an eye, he couldn't make out clearly what's underneath the hood. All he could see was a silhouette of a humanoid head shape, with seemingly pointy ears on both side. He watched as Aranel banged the door shut and said her piece of mind with her head against the door.

You are not human, are you?
Even though shocked and scared at what had come into his workshop, he remained calm. With hands on the back of his body hidden underneath the brown apron, he tried to reach for a sharp chisel on the work table just beside the gold ring, in an act of self defense, albeit seemingly futile. He looked at Two-two, who didn't seem to pay attention to what had happened.

The rain eased further amid the awkward silence. More light came through the window, shining on the wet floor in the workshop. The rain was almost over now. Aureus tried to comprehend who was this lady who came into his workshop, and whether his life was in danger.
Who is this person, or thing. Why is she here. Is she for or against Falador? People like her, adventurers, mercenaries, thousands of them pass by Falador every day. Some stayed to help the people, some simply don't care. Is she going to help the people? Or like the rest who are indifferent? I certainly hope she's just passing by my workshop, I don't want any trouble. Lord Guthix help me.

Aranel turned toward Aureus hearing the fear in his voice. Her eyes flashed with hurt and anger as she threw her hood off and tore off her face mask.
“I am an elf. Go ahead, be afraid.
” He voice was laced with pain.
“Everyone always is.”
She noticed his hand moving toward something.
“If I wanted to kill you I would have done so already. “
Her face was slender and beautiful. Her skin was slightly pale but it only intensified her unique eye and hair color. Her long pointed ears stuck out from under her hair, the ear closer to her braid more difficult to see. “
I only came to Falador because I felt I was needed. I want to help these people against Sir Amik. If you must turn me in because of that then do so. But I do not stand by and let innocents suffer.”
She pulled herself to stand tall at her full height of 5’ 8” and kept her gaze level, challenging him to stand against her. She turned to look at the girl who has til now been silent. She held her face mask loosely in her hand , letting it dangle.
“ I hide who I am because people fear the unknown but I just want to help”
There isn't one.

After talking about this and that, Malcolinus attempts to pinch Two-two’s baby-faced baby-fattened face, though her helm is in the way. She squints, her cheeks flush, and her mouth opens regardless. He goes on talking about various subjects. Two-two remains rather passive, but listens.

Wind flows in, almost extinguishing the furnace. Which is odd, because more oxygen flowing onto burning coals means more heat. The high winds push Aranel’s headgear back. Two-two feels wind flow through the openings in the front of her helm, damp hair and wind cooling her skin. While Malcolinus grabs a chisel, Two-two watches within her iron bucket.

The adventurer removes her headgear and announces what she truly is, a revelation as hurtful as it is difficult. Aranel mentions of her reasons for arriving to Falador, and stands tall with her full height of 172cm, though she is shorter than Malcolinus, who stands at 182cm, and Two-two is taller than both at 190cm.

Two-two blinks once, twice, “
The ears are scary?

Old memories flow Two-two’s mind. Long ago, with Father, she recalls the time they found the other side of the underground. A place with different people. Father spoke of them, sometimes, even before his vanishing.
What did Father call them? Longears?

Father’s indifference of Elves is also in Two-two.

"
Didn’t some Elves plan to besiege Camelot and start their invasion of Gielinor?
"
But Father is gone, and also Tyras.
