No one knows who the Bane is, no Darkborn disappeared to herald his arrival. His past and fate is somehow shrouded even from those who can read history unabridged & unaltered. Some claim he is the wraith of an unresolved crime, others speculate he's but a demon wishing to spread dissent and chaos.
The only fact there is, that he holds an infinite hatred for the clans and seeks to fight them at any given opportunity.
As for me, i remember alot of my time in the depths, the circumstances behind my unique exile is not one of them. Am i a murderer? Was i framed? Answers i have been seeking and is what keeps me in strength.

The Clan Lords, individuals chosen to lead the clan through rigorous ordeals and the difficult choice of the current Clan Lord, his/her parents. Those not chosen are still an important part of the clan, and their children may contend for the next Rite of Lordship.
To note, is that the position of Clan Lord is not viewed as a glamorous status, but a deep burden. Given the position one cannot avoid the duties ordained by the Three and One.
What truly sets aside Darkborn from the normal Moles, apart from their size, is a unique birthmark that stems from millenias of executing their specialty. The current Clan Lord of the Gharos, Raleos Gharos, has a beard that is remniscient of perpetually burning iron wool. These traits vary in magnitude, and may not show at all to some.
