--<<Death, its Differences & Ceremonies>>--
What begins must one day end, and even in death we have some peculiar things unlike you Humans. Nothing -too- special though, but i don't see why you should not know.
The Degenerates care little for the bodies of their fallen comrades, rumours go that they even feast on them if food is short... All that are thrown out of our society was thrown out for a reason, never forget that.
The death of a Commoner or a Follower is no different than that of a Human, they are cremated in the Seared Chambers and are then scattered across Subterranea, their soul finding peace until called back to the wakefulness of life.
The uneventful death of a Dark Born is another thing, if they died a natural death they remain for a short period of time in a shadowy Wraith form, sharing their experiences of Death with their Clan. After their time expires, they pass on with the blessings of their ancestors.
...However, if they were murdered, Their bodies becomes unstable as the massive amounts of arcane energy goes unbound. This is extremely harmful to all living beings nearby, but that is the least of the murderer's problems...
From the Dark Born's corpse rises the vengeful & enraged Wraith with only one thing stopping it from passing on; The continued existence of his/her murderer.
The Death of a Clan Lord is almost the same as a Dark Born, and the murder of one bears the same gruesome consequences.
However, they get to be buried in a hidden & hallowed section in the Citadel of the Clan Lords.
A greater honour in the afterlife you could not get.
We never take items with us in our graves, as many agrees that the trials of the Afterlife must be faced unarmed. But also because it would encourage graverobbers, most likely an unlucky individual who dug too deep... Too greedy...
