Our difference in Skills
Just as the art of Summoning was first discovered by watching humans practise it. We too, have some of our own tricks.
Apart from the aforementioned Shadow Magic and Void Runes, we have been able to imbue WEAPONS with the Runic energy stored in the altars hidden throughout the land, though we haven't been able to find them all... yet.
Among other weapons, we've successfully charged a Greatsword with the energy of Death. a hungry sword indeed, but incapable of harming the Undead. While this sounds like a great advantage in warfare, it requires a rare alloy and a master smith's skill to procure a weapon that can fully store the energy without the weapon crumbling.
We dubbed this art Runeforging.

We also found a different type of Runes, which we named Glyphs. These peculiar 'runes' can store abstract & strange elements such as Sound & Sunlight. Through research, we came to know that these 'Glyphs' are not associated with the Stone of Jas. The energies & knowledge of the Glyphs are contained in what we prefer to call 'Forges', just as your Rune Altars are contained in pocket dimensions. Though the Forges are directly connected to the world.
So while we're not the makers of the Glyph Magi, we created the technique as to how make Amplifying or Dampening Glyphs.

The Aristocracy
Through a life of servitude in either of the three Factions or by a special ordeal, a Mole can enter the most honorable & revered of all groups or guilds in the history of our Race, the Aristocrats. They are the wisest, strongest and perhaps the most well-versed of all Moles in the Arcane, but most importantly they are the most caring of Molekind.
They are called upon only if the most direst of threat endangers the City. They enjoy a life of luxury after an eternity of learning & strife.
Unlike the Clans, you can not be born into the life of Aristocracy, it is something you must earn.

--<Family Life>--
In a common mole family, it would look like this: Both the parents are very protective of their children, it's the fathers duty to educate their sons, just as the mother educate their daughters. But this does not mean they grow separate or that that one gender is less 'worth' than one other. A Mole fully matures at around 20, in which they very commonly try to find their own path in life.
The childs respect and care for their siblings and their parents, blood is thicker than water, you only have a brother/sister once. Each Mole carry their family/clan name with pride, and will very happily step up to defend it.
-Marriages & Romance-
Our love life does not differ from that one of yours Human, except when it's a Commoner/Follower seeking the hand of a Dark Born.
Depending on the Clan involved, the outsider must complete a trial to be deemed worthy, after it's completion the outsider will be greeted with open arms into the Clan. However, they are only part of it by Law, not by blood, so they can't recieve the Gift.

--<<Wild Life & Dangers>>--
Our tunnels are inhabited by the Dark Beasts, drawn to the void altar. We hunt these for food and their leather, if they prove elusive or their numbers have thinned, we hunt the less ferocious Cave Snakes. At times we might also find a special edible cave moss that is very nutritious & delicous.

--Terrors of the Depths--
--<<The Dark One>>--
Legends speak of an ancient & vile creature living in the most deepest crevices of the planet, feeding on any poor, living wretch that gets too close. The only confirmation of it's possible existence is a dark voice penetrating our hunters minds if they venture too deep. Many have lost their minds to this otherworldly, unseen nightmare. The tunnel that supposedly leads to it is called the 'Chasm of the Banished'.
It's supposed appearance is that of a giant, deformed humanoid skeleton with demonic features. It burns with strange flames that do not seem to emit heat. It substitutes its own fleshless state by covering itself with the corpses of its victims. Building its own, flayed, undead skin. The souls of its many preys boils within the ribcage, sustaining the creature's dark existence...
--<<The Bane of Te-Kerej>>--
No one knows the origin of this man. He came from nowhere and seized control of the Loruz Renegades, which he now rules with an iron fist. Those who've had the misfortune to see him and survive tells of a 3 meter tall man with a body scarred from over 1000 battles. He fears no one and nothing. The only man who have ever bested him in battle is Highlord Kiefar B. Mole, which he now sees as an Arch-nemesis
He sees no method too dirty, no life not worth spilling, nothing too holy to be desecrated to fulfill his plans.
He wields the mysterious sword "Blood Advent" in battle, its metal & maker unknown.

--Diet & Needs--
We, like Humans are omnivores, but we prefer meat over anything else, our fangs aren't for show as you can guess.
if the number of animals or game grows thin, we are forced to live on Cave Eels, grown subterranean vegetables or edible cave moss. We value our water, for it, like the darkness and the air, is our life.
As i mentioned we are powerful magicians, but Glyph Magic is not stored within runes but rather in yourself. So if we severely exhaust ourselves, we go into a so called 'Hibernation', at which point we will sleep until we are both physically and mentally rested. Clans collect their hibernating kin and puts them in a chamber to protect them from those who would seek to harm them while defenseless. Depending on our power, a full hibernation can take anywhere from a day to months.
When studying, we become very hermitic. Easily irritable & highly aggressive to those who would dare disturb us, we need silence to think, peace to contemplate, solitude to Introspect.

--Punishment Methods--
Exile
Those stealing clan secrets or repeated murder/sabotage attempts will be punished by this, forced into a human form by the Seers and their memories of the Mole race erased, they are sent to the surface to live their exile for perhaps all eternity.... Many consider this worse than death.
Labour or Incarceration
Thieves or small time outlaws will either be forced to do labour work or spend adequate time in prison.
Choosing neither will most certainly result in a quick & gruesome death at the hands of a specialized Peacekeeper.
Public Execution
Either through the Ring of Blood or the Guillotines swift & merciful blades, murderers or greater thieves spend their last moments in them. The Ring of Blood is a way for outlaws or criminals to regain a semblance of their honor before meeting their end, if they survive, they are allowed to serve the Warders for an adequate time measured by the level of their crime to atone themselves.

--Architecture & Households--
Due to the fact we live in Subterranea, our homes are made exclusively of Metal or Stone. But we are enthusiastic when we do create a household, be it a regal stronghold to a common shack. We use very dark stone with 'Dark' Iron when making strongholds, they are very beautiful from the inside, grand shadowy halls with accompanied silence.
However, Clan Sanctuaries are created differently, they have obstacles and blockades only those of the clan can pass efficiently. For example, if the clan are masters of acrobatics, there would be a big lack of stairs and bridges.
While we abhor slavery, we use servants, their payment is relatively small, but they are also given adequate food and shelter. If no member of the clan is in the household, it is taken care off by a so called 'Sanctuary Steward', special butlers with limited power over the household.
A 'Lord' of the Household, a son or a daughter of the Clan's Overlord, has supreme power over the Household, expelling & inviting guests at will. Doors & halls will yield them, offering no resistance.

Weapons & Armours
Style varies from Mole to Mole, some wear heavy dark iron-plated armour suits, others wear more light shoulderpads & armguards. The former relying on high strength & endurance to win and the latter relying on their agility & speed to wear their opponents down.
Our smiths being exceptionally proud of their work, they adorn their armours with spikes, blades & other ornaments to give their wielders a visage of intimidation and awe. All decorations are arranged in such perfection that they do not interfere in the heat of battle.
When choosing weapons, many prefer the bladed sort, elegant & swiftly slicing through the air. Blunt weapons are rarely used, their clumsy & unbalanced structure not fitting into our type of combat. A few use the claws they were born with to quickly butcher their enemies, this is a honorary way of combat by Mole Standard, fighting your way with the claws you had since youth.
