and click on the according upload. Heavy armour does not limit mobility as much as you'd think. I can wear up to seventy pounds of armour and still run around, fight, dodge, skip, and move without too much difficulty.

Yo, I've got a question. When are PCs going to end up in a group? I know Glenn and Gwen are at this point, so it's really them meeting with the others or others getting together that I'm curious about. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

I actually read an article about swords and whatnot, and it explained a bit on where this myth that they were super heavy actually came from.

It basically said that a lot of the accounts came from the following sources:

1) Historians who have never actually held one of the real swords in their life. If they DID hold a real sword, weakness and inexperience probably made it feel heavier than it actually was. Many actually based their accounts off of ceremonial or replica swords.

2) Fencers who barely wore armor and practiced with a completely different type of sword, somehow looked to as experts even though they had no clue on what the hell they were talking about. Personally, I think they were also trying to make medieval combat appear more brutish and barbaric, while making fencing appear more elegant and glamorous.

As the centuries went on, people began to 'educate' themselves with these sources more and more, and their accounts were cited by the next generation. They eventually became dominant over the ones that were actually accurate. Then movies and video games were thrown into the mix, and now the everyday citizen thinks greatswords and armor are incredibly heavy.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Inferi,
It depends what happens; either everyone ends up in the same group prior to defeating the last arch demon, or we may have two or three groups of characters defeating the arch demons, and then forming a single unit upon the arrival of the Demon God. As such, it depends the order of defeating the arch demons and where the characters are at. At the latest, Inkeyes will tell everyone where to meet to fight the Demon God.

Yes, many misconceptions came from people who did not really know much about medieval swords, especially during the Victorian Era. Fencers from the past two hundred years may have attempted to make their style seem formalized and stylized indeed, as modern sport fencing is not true swordsmanship, but rather, playing tag with wobbly metal things. With my longsword, I can attack with both sides consecutively in a few different ways, even in one hand, so medieval combat was not as brutish as people tend to think. Unless it's a melee, then it's just smashing with poleaxes, maces, war hammers and longswords.
