Welcome back Ray, I noticed you once posted on Mutter, my thread featuring various short stories by me. So hi!
Anyways, I was arguing with this weird guy in Facebook and he ended up deleting all his comments or something, as suddenly his comments directed to me disappeared. I speculated that Exodus may have been an escape of slaves, as there are a few Egyptian papyruses that mention slaves with Semitic names owned by Egyptians, curiously enough at around the same time Exodus occurred (Middle Kingdom-ish). He then accused me of denying history, being an atheist, and having an exaggerated self-important tone. I explained to him that I did not have any of those views, but he dismissed me completely, saying I was denying evidence because I rejected god's words even though I told him I was Christian. So, despite believing in god and being Christian, according to him, I was still an atheist with an exaggerated self-important tone (however that works, whatever that means), who was denying history and then said it was a waste of time to show evidence to fools (about me). So I alluded that his behaviour was akin to paranoia due to his presumptuous and dismissive nature, and he said that I was a fool if my statements could not be understood. Thus, my last reply was, "As I said, you're presumptuous." and shortly after all his comments disappeared. Even in my first comment, I ended it saying I was welcoming to anyone who had links, evidence, sources or anything else to correct me. He, on the other hand, often resorted to changing subjects, name-calling, and ignoring what was really being said. :/
