Just trying to make an in-universe joke about how similar their names were from a friendly gladiator who doesn't know any better.

I guess it didn't work.

Oh, no I wasn't referring to that at all. I even meant to say "I see what you did there."

It was quite funny.

But I mean, they're both settled in a town in the Golden Continent. I'm pretty sure all those towns probably look the same!

I think Gwen is nestled somewhere in the southern regions of the Byzantine Empire at the moment. I'm still catching up with your posts, but I guess that would depend on how north you were.

I KNEW IT.

This is secretly a conspiracy to train us lazy rpers to write stories, huh? ;)

(EDIT: Not that I'm complaining - it's much easier to keep track of a single roleplayers submissions. O_o )

Warm winter mosquito warning

Chasers,
Gwen is 25% done her trip. I mentioned the trip would take a month, but I think a few days had passed since Glenn's start of his mission. I can quickly do some edits and make it so that Gwen arrived in the past, and so was actually in the Golden Continent prior to Glenn's mission.

Gwen will reach the Crusader States; the Romans are not Byzantines. The Romans are based off Ancient Rome, whereas the Byzantines are based from Byzantium. Nevertheless, the Byzantines are Romans but who just formed their own empire long ago. Historically, Byzantines referred to themselves as Romans, but spoke Greek, not Latin. Within the Byzantine Empire, Latin-speaking Westerners were occasionally massacred.

Anyways, I will do some edits and think of something to get Gwen closer to Glenn. Basically, let's just say that Gwen arrived in the Golden Continent of Pharaoh's lands, and will meet up with Glenn eventually upon she reaching (or getting closer too) his locale.

I track the RPing of users in that index, to help me find info and posts, just in case. But ya, an RP is basically short stories with stipulations done by multiple people, right?

well, turns out that I don't really need to make any edits after all! So ya, let's just say Luther's exhibition began before Glenn's assignment, and will finish, or get closer to finish, at a point of time that just happens to have Glenn around. A time-skip may be necessary but I'll go back and read the new posts and see what I can do.

No one ever reads the small-print of my threads...

I read it. I just assumed you wouldn't wipe out a person's entire cast of characters, or characters whose stories you actually wanted to see through to the end.

Was there ever a case of you arbitrarily killing someone in The Final Quest? Not because of inactivity or rule-breaking or anything else, but just because you want to?

That said, I am not giving Angel express permission to murder all my characters, since I do intend for some of them to make it through. But I don't just think of my characters as the heroes of their own personal stories, I also think of some of them as supporting/background characters in the grand scheme of things who can die.

This is an interesting concept and one which I wrestle with quite often as the thread owner. Everyone can't be the main protagonist at the same time, yet also no one wants to feel like their character is secondary or otherwise redundant. I prefer to set a scenario and let the players tackle it rather than be leading the story with a character of my own, which is why in The Final Quest to take my ever-favoured example, Thorek II, who was leading the party, died relatively early on and at a critical stage, meaning that it was entirely up to the players where they were going next.

As the thread owner, I don't think I'm really allowed 'playable characters' to use video game terminology, as I know too much about everything to perform this role in an unbiased way. So although attached to all of my characters, I am willing to allow each and every one to succumb to death if that is where the story takes them, (even Soahc, as I'm sure you power-hungry team-evil RPers will be satisfied to hear.) I'd rather their deaths be somewhat meaningful, but again, I am not going to purposefully arrange events to prevent them from dying when it is clear that is what should be the reasonable conclusion of whatever's taking place.
