Chaser, yes, you can choose not to become a thread master if you don't want to upon defeating an arch demon. Instead, you can pass it onto someone else. I will put this in the guidelines; that was a good question!
I was thinking about making a longbowman from Brittania - essentially creating a half-demon who swears revenge on the church for executing her excommunicated mother, but doesn't exactly want to stomp over everyone to get that revenge. These feelings eventually lead to the character earning the sword Excalibur, and becoming a wandering mercenary with morals (but no real sense of loyalty, only goals).
I do see a few holes in this plan though.
Does the Gothic religion hold much sway in Brittania, or is they more focused on their holdings on the mainland?
How many 'demons' are there - is it only the seven arch-demons that procreate to create cambions, or can any un-named demon do it?
If folklore exists in this world, how fantastical can magic's, abilities and enchanted weaponry be? Could any mage theoretically chuck a fireball from their hands after days of training, or would that require years of training or perhaps even a ritual?
I was thinking about giving my characters these sorts of abilities. Would they fit the theme?
Weapons:
Gwen wields Excalibur, a legendary golden longsword that resists magic, curses and all forms of tarnishing – a simple cut brings excruciating pain to demons or other unholy beings. The gilded blue scabbard possesses a mystical healing boon to anyone who wields it, while also vastly slowing or even reversing the aging process. Following the legend, should the hero who received the sword die, the sword will lose all power and must be returned to the Lady of the Lake.
Abilities:
The ability to read an objects memories and structure, and enhance its physical and magical attributes (if present). This ability also allows the user to copy any experience or memories the item might have picked up from previous owners – essentially allowing an untrained civilian to become a master swordsman simply by wielding an experienced blade, or using a treasured item to predict where and what a person has previously done.

What's the setting? Is there a setting? Do settings exist? Are settings things?
Original message details are unavailable.
Not particularly interested in getting involved in an RP where the GM has already structured the story so heavily that they already know exactly how the finale will go.
... It would appear that we have a critic on our hands.
I'm still deciding if I need to consult with Emo about whether or not I should introduce my character in a civilian mecha gambling brawlfest (and how much control I might be able to give away with that fight), or if he needs us to high tail it to the blackbird for the plot to begin. In the latter case I will simply imply the "Scarlett Seer" won spectacularly.
... Come to think about it, I don't think I've even asked Emo how common or popular mecha fighting is in terms of sports - would the more reputable people of iTV be able to crowd around the force-fields like a sporting event, betting on which giant robot would bash the nuts out of another? Or would this be a local or unviable backwater sport (like Basketball or Australian Rules... *trollbait*)
