I think I have a new concept for a thread that would be somewhat different to your average roleplay. Instead of a set plot, the setting would instead consist of a single scene that will stay open for a set posting limit (maybe around 50 posts?). After those 50 posts, the "roleplaying world" has ended, and a new "setting" is generated from a clean slate.
Roleplayers wouldn’t need applications to join – or set characters to begin with.
I like the idea because it allows for shorter-term shorter-post roleplays that could be completed in a single sitting. I hope such a thread would allow for better character development, and could have a better focus on character relationships without the “plot” dangling over everyone’s heads.
If this roleplay were to go ahead, I would need to figure out a way to generate settings. Would I have a list of 60 setting prompts generated by the 50th poster of the previous round, or would I allow people to make their own? Would I be expected to make a new setting and plot for every run?
What do you guys think?

I got the idea from "Fractals of the Mists", which is a dungeon game-mode of another MMO. I believe Runescape has something similar now, called "Shattered Worlds". The idea is that characters travel within an unstable realm of memories, experiencing a wide range of short-lived moments in history.
Rather than adding central figures, I'd rather consider each roleplayer as a character clad within some sort of avatar. That's not to say your avatar COULDN'T find themselves stuck within some sort of temporal nonsense of their own, and find themselves traveling between these settings.
