No I didn't miss it.

Bullets aren't relevant anymore, unless you are a civilian.

Lasers move at the speed of light, whereas bullets have mass and therefore cannot move at the speed of light. This makes bullets much slower than laser, and lasers are therefore unavoidable. Lasers however overheat quickly, as they are high heat. bullets do not overheat a weapon as quickly as a laser. That being said, bullets would be very ineffective against mechs, because shields and whatnot. Both the Pirates and the military ask people to become Technos, because they have an insatiable need for them.

And how are these laser weapons powered? By batteries? Do you load these batteries in like magazines on a regular gun?

What about armor? Have new metals been discovered/created to resist laser technology? Or do we just rely on shields?

I'm probably going to write my intro soon, by the way. Should I begin on the Blackbird or on Nakriid?

Both ships are anchored on Nakriid. The armor and joints are probably the weakest part of the mec*. If you are curious about Plasma, which both overheats shields, and melts armor, Lurden has a plasma pistol that he is eager to get off his hands, it reminds him of his days in the military, which he wants to forget. The only problem with plasma is that it needs to be charged and then fired, and after that is a speedy cooldown before you need to fire again. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

Are all laser weapons plasma?

I was kinda thinking Gary would have this laser pistol that was kind of like a revolver, except a large battery would go where the chamber is. It would hold five or six shots and be extremely deadly.

Yes Lasers need batteries, but any kind of battery works, the AA batteries that are used in an Xbox 360 controller could work. it is the same with plasma, the drawback with plasma is that since plasma needs to be charged, it takes extra energy from the battery to charge it, so plasma is more powerful, but it drains the battery quicker. Alright then. What time is it currently? And since you made no post directly referencing our characters I'm assuming we can start off anywhere we want?

Edit: Oh, and can batteries be recharged after combat or do you have to discard them and get completely new ones?

Pasma is actually different than a laser. Plasma is more like a gas that has been charged with a high doses of electricity, heat, and radiation and are then released, lasers are lights that are charged with heat, and burn through their targets, plasma burns through targets and turns them into goo.
