Anyways Emo, can my character pilot one of the ships?
yes.
Alright, but he is missing an eye, colour blind, fully blind, constantly drunk, and prone to seizures as well as muscle spasms.
you might also might want to make a co pilot, if that is the case.
He doesn't need a co pilot. He is just
that
good.
But if you insist I suppose I could just make a guy who doesn't have any arms or legs, and refuses to get robotic replacements because he doesn't trust that specific area of technology. Oh, he is also mute.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Next you'll be telling us his brain is linked directly with the ship and that we're all hitchhikers inside of his new body.
Hmm, is it possible to use technotics to... say... recall shock memories from your immediate future? I'm thinking it could be a reverse engineered tech the Ikranians cooked up but eventually scrapped - after all, the technology does come dangerously close to timetravel in its loosest sense. Of course, humans would have no such qualms about this sort of research. No pain no gain, am*rite?
In a battlefield of unblockable beam spam, I don't think this will be too much of an advantage (and lets be honest, the idea itself could probably be scrapped and retitled good intuition, luck or plot armour ).

You mean like grenades that could accelerate someone's aging rate? Or reverse aging altogether? Like in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, 'cept more futuristic?
Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy!
