I disagree with your opinion here, Lasky, here is why. (For future reference I am a big movie nut.)

1) This is not George Lucas directing or writing anything here, he sold the rights to the movie back in 2012 for $4 billion. That means that he is in no way involved in any decisions for the movie. This means that the Franchise might have a chance.

2) The Director is JJ Abrams, who did both of the recently made Star Trek movies. JJ Abrams is a really experienced Si-fi director, he did Lost as well. With Abrams instead of Lucas, it is looking even better.

3) There can be no mistakes here. They have pitched forth a new series of movies in the franchise. That means a new storyline, a new script, new costumes, new everything. When so much is new, there is a lot of pressure on a director, If Abrams does badly on this, he might have a lot of trouble finding work as a director, since he will then be remembered as "The Man Who Ruined Star Wars" Ruining a movie this big is a way to kill ones own career in the movies. There is a lot of pressure on Abrams to do this right.

4) Never be cynical and pessimistic, Lasky, it is bad for one's health. Optimism is the way forward.

5) Episodes I,II, and III didn't have to be good, since we know what happened in IV, V, and VI. episodes VII, VIII, and IX are expected to gross more money than any movie in recent history, more so than the Avengers did when they first came out. I,II,III just connect the dots. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy!

6) Never judge a book by its cover, from what I have SCENE( haha) in the trailers, it looks very good; and I know that you think that I just counteracted my own advise. There is a difference, however. You are judging the movie as something people will hate, before you have even seen it, whereas I am judging it as being worthy of being seen regardless of whether or not it is good. It is good that you are skeptical about it, but don't knock it till you try it. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy!
