I think it's because our thanksgiving occurs for a different reason or something.

This is an untrue statement. I shouldn't actually have the decision of whether or not my character reacts, because the character's personality would dictate it. Even if I did not want to recognize it as being there (which I don't, because of reasons I stated when it first showed up) if it was acknowledged as being there it would be something my character would naturally react to and therefore I would have to have her react to it.

Just had to say that, because for whatever reason seeing that gave me an incessant need to say something. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Obviously nothing. He's too busy being an Actual Cannibal stalking you through the woods on a Tuesday night.

But if he weren't being a truly terrifying presence, I imagine it would have to be him shouting "JUST DO IT!"
