Okay, here's an idea I have tried before:
A dungeon crawler thread. Every time I have done one of these, they never got off the ground. Either nobody joined them or they died not too soon after starting.
Regardless, I'm thinking about trying one again.
Only five players will be allowed (including myself), to reduce the waiting time between posts. Each player can only have one character. Only one mage will be allowed in the party. This isn't a first come first serve deal - I will decide who gets accepted based on skill, activity, how interesting the character is, and how many similar characters are already in the party.
No, I will not be using Joric Ironfist for this one.

I don't think the limited space concept works... unless you had specific roleplayers in mind to fill those spaces.
