I'm returning to my two week rotation of work today, but work starts tomorrow. I'll be vastly busy for the next two weeks thusly.

In other news, the Dahomey Amazons have had their own historical film, except that their film isn't historical. Some Dahomey Amazons were slaves, and most were themselves slavers--however, some of course were in opposition to the British Empire
or was it the Portuguese Empire? I don't remember
.

For some reason, whenever African or Black American history is involved lately, the historical elements are the opposite of reality, which I consider disrespectful to all the suffering Africans endured. It's comparable to Holocaust denial. Portraying the Dahomey Amazons like anti-slavery freedom fighters is like depicting Nazis as entirely opposed to the Holocaust.

Well, Republicans are now freaking out about Velma from Scooby Doo about her coming out...even though Velma was clearly a lesbian feminist since the 60s. Only took them like fifty years to notice. I don't think even I'm that dumb, and how often do you find people dumber than me?

I think they knew, too; they just didn't want anything 'woke' in Scooby Doo. They can't accept that their world is changing, and for that, I pity them. It's one thing to be old-fashioned. It's another to refuse to adapt to your circumstances. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

Good points. I am also old-fashioned but I am adaptable, simply because I let people be themselves. Velma was my favorite Scooby Doo character, btw, but I never realized she was lez until well into my adulthood XD

Oh, and things are slow on my end as I'm trying to book my flight to Texas for the second day in a row. Since I'm still working twelve hour shifts, I have little spare time. I will try to get started on RPs within a couple days but may need a couple days to finish everything.

I think everyone is a bit old-fashioned. It's natural to use what you are familiar with, even when there are new products that do a tools function better, or even make it obsolete. That being said, this was more about the religious right being pissed that their childhood cartoons are being 'assaulted' by 'woke' ideology. It is pure bigotry. Do they have anything better to do than spout hatred? Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

Another good point. I still use the woodstove to heat up the mobile home XD I just like chopping wood. Also, firewood is technically free to use, I only pay gas for the chainsaw, but after that, the woodstove becomes free cooking and heating and, sometimes, drying mushrooms.
Basically, 'woke ideology' is when Republicans see a black woman or LGBQT+ person on media. It's a mask for bigotry, because they know if they're openly racist or bigoted they'll get punished.

Of course, some recent films kinda such, like he latest StarWars or Rings of Power, or that movie about the Dahomey Amazons, but not because of 'woke agenda', but because they're poorly formed. On the bright side, at least all the people involved in those projects are better at their jobs than they used to be, having acquired experience. Hopefully, they won't blame everything on everyone else and learn to take accountability.

Yeah, the entire Star Wars sequel trilogy was awful. It wasn't storytelling for one thing. That last Star Wars film felt like it was a cringy fan fic written by a 13 year old, but being the Star Wars fan that I am, I decided to see it, even knowing how awful it was because I wanted to see how much of a trainwreck it was. I was not disappointed. XD Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)
