I have empathy, that's all. I don't know why modern culture shrugs off basic human decency. Though I am a hypocrite for saying that, seeing as I can be black hearted, as you all know. Indeed, it is better to not buy into panic, but in this case, I can't help it. The Kurds and Uighurs also are suffering, and I feel bad about it. Feeling bad for suffering parents and children isn't my choice, it happens automatically.

On the bright side, momentum is building up for awareness of these issues.

Difference is Uighurs aren't slinging mid-range Iranian missiles at the civilian population. Call it unempathetic western values, but it's hard to look at pictures of women and children and sympathize with terrorism.

That happens, too, though the occupiers killed more people than the terrorists. Even recently, over thirty civilians got killed in an airstrike. Killing civilians doesn't help anyone, regardless if done by terrorists or militaries. Only difference is the occupiers are aided and funded by superpowers, whilst the occupied lose their homes to war or confiscation. If you keep stealing and killing from a nation for multiple decades, that nation will obviously hate you.

But yes, like Annie, I wish there was peace throughout the world. Democracy deteriorates, the threat of nuclear war increases, and the world is becoming a polluted desert whilst sea levels rise and storms increase. We aren't heading in a good direction, we all need to prepare while we can.
