I could stride on into a village and some dude can be like "Yo, you can do light maagic too? Cool, we've got fifty in town already".

You'd only get that when striding into temples and churches.

Few people have magical talent. In the Sorusian Empire, when a child is discovered to have magic, they are either sent to the priesthood to learn healing magic, or to an isolated school to practice the elemental arts.

What would Yisu think of someone who was falsely imprisoned, got slaves and prisoners to their side, caused a mass riot which freed everyone being held and eventually managed to create a vigilante order which made well-organised sieges and assaults against specific hierarchies? The order would treat each other as family, and recruit by offering the downtrodden a place and people they can call home.

And they would be friendly to most people, offering them a stay for the night, only really attacking tyrants, slave traders, basically anyone treading people into the dirt.

She, along with most of the gods of chaos, would love that.

Drakus and many of the gods of order, however, would hate that.

You also have to take your fellow mortals into consideration. The Sorusian Empire would be quick to stamp such a force out.

But this isn't a faction RP, and I don't think I will allow such a thing.

Right... One more question, or I suppose a couple actually. If a particularly devout follower of a God is in need, and calls out for the aid of their God, would that God see fit to provide them with the power/boost/whataever it is they need? Or is their direct intervention strictly for those who are big, famous leaders in the public eye?

Also, would the Gods have artifacts somewhere out in the world that have divine/highly magical capabilities? Not saying city destroying stuff, but particularly potent magical artifacts that once belonged to them in some way? Likely hidden or lost, probably means a lot to their worshipers if they were found, etc.

Sometimes, yes.

Yep. Usually items of sentimental value that they had when they were mortal, given magical properties and then bestowed upon favored followers.

That moment when you realise that an RP you made, after quite a bit of planning and writing stories leading up to it, might just die off with no action. RIP Naval Cataclysm.

Either way, I will continue with ADW and Cradle soon, and I'm making steady progress towards writing my second RP which involves vampire and werewolf mafioso. I'm naming it Crooks and Nannies, and I'm still pending on whether to set it in a late 20's setting like post-Great Depression, or an alternate future from after a war.
Prepare for hell on RuneScape in Naval Cataclysm!

I suppose I should also mention that the gods have come to something of an agreement that limits their interaction with the world. They are not allowed to enter the world physically unless they assume a mortal form without any powers. They are, however, allowed to bestow a small amount (by god standards) of power to a mortal, and offer guidance to said mortal.

If they break this agreement, the other gods team up and seal them away for a few hundred years.

Also as the years have gone by, many gods have grown lax in enforcing their own ideology. They've wisened up and realized the world will never reach a state of total order or total chaos, so they limit themselves to just offering guidance to their own followers, performing occasional miracles, and punishing those who falsely claim to be their champion or descendant.

So the Gods are lazy.

Not necessarily. Some of them, like Rorak, Zhang, Yisu, Ghoa, and Drakus still very much believe in their ideology, and if given sufficient cause may even risk breaking the agreement. They're just toning things down for now and waiting for the best opportunity. And Ghoa already has broken the agreement - it's why she was sealed away.

Then you have gods like Malis, Gleaf, Gerrus, and Valeri, who are non-confrontational by nature.

There's also Arenar and Milius, who have always preferred indirect means of interacting with mortals anyways. Trust me, Arenar and Milius are still actively involved in the world.

Anyways, I added Gerrus, the God of Creativity, as an Aspect of Chaos. And Death, a neutral god who was directly created by the original two. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
