I've been lurking here and there. I haven't had much interest in joining anything (largely a result of an especially depressed state the past month and a half or so). I still don't think I'm especially inclined to join anything, but I wanted to post to say I still usually exist.

Unfortunately, I've also had to bury my dog this week, and I'm heartbroken. She was ~8 years old, and I only adopted her ~2 years ago, but she came down really sick. The vet did x-rays, found some concerning masses in her abdomen, and did an exploratory surgery to see what was going on in there. A mass in her liver had ruptured, causing intense swelling, pain, and nausea for her. We opted to simply not wake her from her surgery, and the past few days have been a mess of attempting to distract myself, standing up to do whatever, and then very quickly descending into tears when I remember that she isn't here anymore.

Currently I'm attempting to catalogue my memories with her, as well as others' memories of her, because I have a terrible memory and I can feel the stories slipping through the cracks already. I don't want to forget her. She was so special.

edit: wanted to clarify that she came down really sick over the course of ~36 hours, so it was all very sudden.

Oh no, horrible news, Blue. I've gone through a few pets myself but they always disappeared on their own, I can only imagine how bad it'd be to try and save a pet only to bury her later on. On the bright side, she passed away peacefully, there are so many animals and even people who don't get that. I pray you the best in your collection of memories. You definitely don't have to join any RP especially now. I wish you all the best.
