My edit got buried, so I'll repost it once more: Telling me to not talk politics is telling me that the problems of my friends and family can't be discussed in this space. I'd like to honor it because I just got here, but it's a request that falls more on the shoulders of some people than others.

I'm not upset, but I would also rather be honest about how I feel towards that request. I'm going to stop posting on this thread now.

You shouldn't be held to a different standard for being new here. We've all been talking shit to each other for ten years, just in other ways.

I think what you're saying here is totally valid. There is no space that can be wholly apolitical, and a moratorium on political discussion could only ever be enforced arbitrarily. In my opinion it seems that the consensus is the specific discussion that's been happening here over the last few days, regarding the election, has not been productive.

I personally don't want anyone to feel like there are things they can't discuss here. Like Pink said, we're all mature enough that it shouldn't ever devolve into flaming. There's no rule I know of regarding politics on these forums, but it is true that no other topic would bring people closer to breaking the rules regarding personal conduct.

All that being said I have to agree with Annie that we should get back to RPing. I might even start a thread.

Probably just more generic fantasy. There was an idea I came up with years ago when Angel, Gunslinger Z, Laser Gunk and myself (and some other folks, I'm blanking on names) had a sort of collaboration going on across multiple threads.

If I start something it will probably just be reworking that premise so it doesn't feel like I wrote it when I was a teenager, lol.

Edit: I'm looking at some old documents and it looks like this idea is from seven years ago. I think Into the Fire is the last vestige of that collaboration, being over five years old now.
