I honestly don't think trump was all that bad. The guy was an idiot, sure, but most people couldn't name a single campaign promise in 2020 besides "biden isn't trump", yet they still hate trump blindly.

Such an opinion gets me shunned irl and labeled a trump supporter, probably because I haven't seen or experienced any real reason to pull down statues or loot a supermarket in "peaceful" protest against Trump.

In short, we all have different political views, so please try to be tolerant of others. Us vs Them mentality has been a problem for far too long.

Looks like the supreme court can't help him, either, at least so far. Would be funny to see how he reacts and ends up in jail where he belongs. Let's hope the white supremacist types don't freak out too hard though I will admit I am looking forward to the compilations of Trump supporters crying and wailing their despair XD

A Republican President won't be able to pardon him, either. He/she can only pardon for federal offences, and not state offences, and New York is going to go after him HARD for all the shit he's done, not to mention the hundreds of lawsuits against him. The Trump Fortune is not going to be worth much after all the litigation, and Little Barron might not be inheriting much. :)

The only thing that ever comes out of a political discussion these days is sheer, unadulterated hatred, and as such I will always agree with anyone not wanting to talk about such a toxic subject. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Pink,
XD seems like Trump's totally screwed. Wouldn't be surprised if German bank confiscated his property, too. Trump spent his life screwing over family businesses so he'll get what he deserves.

About Trump and big problems in America overall,
A lot of bad things in politics and policies associated with Trump weren't really from Trump, lots came from Kushner who organized quite a bit. Trump was more of a spokesman taking credit for things he didn't do and that set him up to take lots of blame. The worst thing Trump did at a personal level was consistently encourage white supremacists/militias/neoNazis like they were his friends, which incites violence and has created a movement fueled by paranoia and passive aggressive obsession for civil war. Politics beyond that, such as climate change, superviruses, tax evasion, fossil fuels and looting I can kinda let go because he couldn't really do much, plus the Koch brothers are the main source of fossil fuel overextraction as they can basically buyout politicians and policies though nobody seems to care.

About hating people with different views,
I won't hate anyone who defends Trump or has an opinion differing to my own, tho. I'm pretty sure I at least am not a bigot even in topics I find dire and dangerous. By the end of the day, we're all in this problem together, so we gotta work together to fix it, something lots of people on both sides of the political spectrum don't seem to understand. Indeed, the us vs them mentality has only divided us and things aren't improving, so it's time to reconfigure ourselves.

I feel like the unspoken rule is that we shouldn't talk about politics, and yet we've never devolved in flaming each other for political beliefs. Regardless, I feel like we should stop. It's over. Trump lost, it's time to put American politics aside. Heh. Unless anyone wants to,talk Canadian politics. XD Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

Trump has been a very ineffective President. Barely anything has come of his term that benefits - or even directly affects - the average (white) American. This could be read as him being "not so bad" or the media exaggerating perceived flaws. But the far more dangerous and insidious effect of his presidency is the galvanization and emboldening of white supremacists in America (like Azi mentioned), who are recognized by the FBI as the most pressing terror threat facing the country. "Trumpism" or the "MAGA" ideology will long outlive this presidency and pose a danger to Americans for the foreseeable future and beyond.

I don't want this to seem like I'm attacking you personally. But the "liberals just say orange man bad" talking point is reductive, and really not the point.

Biden winning is not the victory here, for me. The victory is Trump and white supremacist ideology taking a loss, no matter how close the call may have been.

Edit: Lol, sorry, maybe I should have checked for new responses while I was writing mine. Didn't mean to drag that out.
Joe? It's your post on Hard Times.

I have friends who disagree with me on political issues, but honestly, I don't think friendships are very healthy if they're expected to devolve into hatred or warzone mentality the second politics are brought up. The thing it took me a long time to learn was that friendships were a lot more solid and stable when political differences could be talked out respectfully, rather than buried and suppressed.

Like I said, I'd rather not go into it, because I'm a guest here. But what's just 'politics' for one person is daily struggle for another. I have too many friends who are on the verge of homelessness or medical bankruptcy, or whose family might harm them or already has done so simply for being who they are, for my sense of political urgency to begin and end with "Trump's out of the White House". Those are all political problems.

I'm sorry, I know this is uncomfortable to hear, but being allowed to leave politics behind is a privilege. Telling me to not talk politics is telling me that the problems of my friends and family can't be discussed in this space.

I'm not upset, but I would also rather be honest about how I feel towards that request. I'm going to stop posting on this thread now.
