I don't deny Mihovil has the potential to be an interesting character depending on how he was utilized, and I certainly have nothing against him having similar interests to Cat - that's accepted and encouraged to make up some new ones. However, a backstory with the supposed antagonist doesn't fit with the scenario - all the characters have a backstory involving the antagonist, else they wouldn't be part of the 'we know it's there and are going to kill it' crew. There's also unexplained reasons why Mihovil wouldn't have any kind of backstory with the antagonist beyond the experience they all shared.
Honestly, by the time I got far enough into the bio to notice the father tied up I had already come to decide Mihovil wouldn't fit in. Being messed up emotionally, mentally or anything alike to it is fine for a character, but it was taken a bit too far with him - far too much of a budding serial killer vibe than anything else. I just didn't see it working well with the group in the long run. Though I'll admit, perhaps I'm a little biased - I've seen you play a number of mentally damaged or silently psychotic characters and, if I'm honest, they never get along with the group they've been made a part of.
