You assume readers forget about half the time. For example, I am a critique partner for four different authors, meaning I read four different peoples' novels in progress whilst sub editing, commenting, suggesting, and discussing their worlds, characters and storytelling, for four different authors each who are quite different from one another, whilst also RPing as a gamemaster in Omega and working on my own novel, then starting my next two week rotation tomorrow night. I certainly can't memorize a roleplay's context because of all this content, especially when I'm trying to read through books I'm way behind on, and having housework to do and working on my mycelium all day as I'd like to grow gourmet mushrooms but everything I've been doing isn't working. There's just too much content amid all these different for me to memorize.
Meanwhile, I noticed I forget things more and more often. I also drop things, bump into things (so my forehead, knee, shin or elbow strikes the doorframe, corner, chair, etc.), misplace things, and misinterpret things much more often than I used to. Today, I dropped several things, spilled birdseed and then barley, had messes to clean up, and still wasn't able to clean up my little mess in the trailer addition, and to make things worse, I still haven't finished renovations there, as I still gotta screw new walls back in but holy hell, everything is just so hard now.
Since posting this, I dropped two more things, a jar of birdseed that at least fell on the tabletop and something else I don't remember ^.^
