Rainbow,
Oof, don’tcha hate it when you make big plans and then they never unfold? That’s exactly what happened in Collaboration, just when I wanted everything to unfurl, everyone disappeared XD but, at least you have a decent alternative, it’ll work out.
Yes, everyone was against Bernie. Personally, I would disagree that he’s a socialist, tho, he’s more of a social democrat. Socialism is when workers control their production and profits, which Bernie wasn’t really advocating--out of anything, how Jeff Bezos controls Amazon’s production and profits is socialism just supporting one person, therefore revealing that socialism isn’t necessarily the solution.
Well, Maduro (my Venezuelan friend and I nicknamed him bus driver) I would argue was a fascist acting like a socialist, who abused the political system for personal gain. Maduro did not employ socialism as it formally was, but we can all agree that what he did was evil and to hell with him.
Socialism is preferable to corporatism. It’s just that socialism doesn’t necessarily remove corporatism. Although Marx argued in favor of workers and ownership of production, and democracy in the workplace, Marxism/socialism are vulnerable to fascist takeover, as it can be easily merged temporarily, as what happened to Germany during the Third Reich. I would argue Sweden and Germany, like Canada, are more social democracies than socialist countries, but maybe I’m just splitting hairs.
Annie,
That tends to be the best option.
I posted the next turn in Omega, it’s extra long to make up for my absence, and hope the storytelling grips you for the surprise ending for that turn!
