I'm awful with unfamiliar people. Except behind a screen. Like, in the real world (*gasps at the horror*) I tend to stick to my established friends and, in a case that I have to interact with unfamiliar people (generally at work), I follow pretty strict self-imposed scripts to quickly and efficiently avoid extensive small talk. I've gotten significantly better, in recent years, at navigating unfamiliar social situations. However, this is just because I had an acquaintance who dragged me into the wonderful world of theatre. Which subsequently ripped me out of my shell (quite literally - I always wore baggy jackets over top of whatever I was wearing that day, a trait many of my characters from early on shared, and they forcibly wrenched it off of my arms).

Basically, we've all got our things, and we are all able to look past something and continue to be friends. :)

Edit: HEY I'M NOT DEAD BUT I FEEL LIKE IT BECAUSE I'VE HAD A MIGRAINE FOR A MONTH STRAIGHT SOMEONE PLEASE SHOOT ME IN THE FACE
I just play FFXIV at this point. DC: Crystal

We definitely do. Hell, one of my early psychologists was close to considering me a legitimate psychopath. Not as in, the standard movie definition, but just someone with a complete lack of empathy. I don't believe that's true at all, however, not now.

I've got severe paranoia, insomnia, manic depression, and the occasional psychotic episode, but I think I'm winning the fight. Especially here lately. I used to have social anxiety but I think I've [mostly] put that one in the grave already.
