I dunno, I think Priestess is pretty badass, and she’s only an obsidian rank at present.

It's mentioned that guild ranks depend on personality, with rank-up meetings and other such formalities. No matter how powerful you are, if you're a jerk who can't be relied upon to complete jobs to a certain standard, you'll probably stay in porcelain your entire life.

So Goblin Slayer probably got promoted on Guild Girl's recommendation - I mean, it's not like high level goblins don't exist. Goblin Shamans, Goblin Champions, Hobgoblins and Goblin Lords are enemies that could challenge a group of silver ranked adventurers, after all.

It's strange having been part of the Goblin Slayer hype train before the anime was announced. Having experienced so many people talking about having read ahead before an anime even comes out has made me realize that, in this case, I am that person.

Never touched the light novels, but the manga is good stuff. More graphic of course, such as the moments where the initial adventuring party gets destroyed - each one of them gets a page devoted to telling some of their backstory, hopes and dreams, then cuts back to their brutal demise. It was a lot more gut-wrenching. I am Inferi.

Yeah, I didn't need to see it said because I read about it, and to be honest that was the main thing that made me not want to watch. I don't like feeling bad when I watch stuff for entertainment. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

I think it's important for a story to have emotional high's and low's. Doing otherwise is like never putting salt in your food. It'll taste okay, but it'll never taste as good as it could.

I don't put salt on my food. I don't like salt or salty foods. I was always quite sensitive to salt. I vastly prefer paprika, marjoram, pepper, or cayenne, or any other spice.

Ironically, apparently, having a low-sodium diet can make you stiff and sore, which is exactly what I have sometimes. So, maybe sodium isn't as unhealthy as the media makes it out to be.

Anyways, I've been working on my Bioshock fanfic most of today. May post in RPs tonight after supper. Cooking first supper on my woodstove! Coincidentally, the woodstove is called Columbia, and I live in British Columbia, ha. Supper consists of chicken thighs and legs cut apart, spices, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Will be cooking rice in my rice cooker.

The human body has a very high tollerance to salt. For proof, just look at Reddit.

In any case, Salt is a flavour enhancer (if used correctly and in moderation). It can make sweet things sweeter, sour things more sour, umami more... wtf is umami anyway? So that's the context of the analogy.
