Well, my plate armour arrived this morning. It consists of black Gothic armour made in India, with thin brass ornamentation here and there. It consists of arm harness, leg harness, breastplate and backplate, and sallet with bevor. It's very nice, considering I got it for about 1k CDN from eBay, whereas it normally would cost around two grand USD elsewhere. Some rivets were a bit loose, so I used a peening hammer to hammer them better, and tapped the brass decorations a bit better. The bevor's rivets were rather out, so the visor could not close properly, so once I hammered the rivets better, the bevor now can close.
The craftsmanship is overall 3/5, but considering how cheap it was, I'm not complaining. The helmet is absent of helmet liner, padding and chin strap, so I will eventually add those at a later time, by drilling some holes and then riveting the additions into the inside of the helmet. Now, all I need is padding for the shins and thighs, or simply get padded leggings.
The armour is not what I'd consider for heavy-duty armored combat, but for training, practicing, sparring, and conditioning, it's good enough. Next, I just want one of those big great helms! But future orders will be for later, after I move to Texas, as I need to quit playing in fantasy land and start getting serious in real life.
