Yes, that's basically dieselpunk. It's usually a mix of the World Wars, zeppelins, primitive mechs, industrial themes, and that sort of thing. Since Wake Up seems to be dead, and I have no active RPs here anymore, it's time to start over, and see what happens.
But yes, as West said, it depends how it falls together. I was thinking something like this:
The role-play begins in a civil environment, approaching a looming Great War. During this 'punk' phase, users role-play as mostly-faceless characters who have little impact on the world. This phase could include punk themes like bounty hunters, private detectives, mobsters/gangsters, mafia families, corrupt nobility, witch hunters, or what have you, which may be involved in causing the Great War.
Since RPs need to be story-driven, we will develop the RP from the user’s backstory, but I’ll also include at least a few fully-storied protagonist-like bios myself and see what happens. Will also gradually include major and minor factions that influence the role-play as it progresses; this will limit how much we need to read, only offering what is necessary when it comes.
The Great War begins. First World War setting. Ignorance, hordes of youngsters sent to their deaths, chaotic battles: tanks, zeppelins, biplanes, cavalry, trench warfare, chemical warfare, bayonet charges, armoured soldiers, etc. Users may be drafted into the military, and those who once may have been enemies may be forced to work together, which could be interesting. Also, I think the idea of Deathclaws and mutated things would be cool to face.
