Page 2840,
Hm, interesting discussions here, but I don’t have anything to add. Basically, all points are valid and reasonable, Delta, Gun, West. There’s nothing I can add that counts as wisdom. I am rather ignorant of how social media works in relation to business, but I never knew JAGEX made a Transformers game. Didn’t do much on FunOrb, but played a little chess and did terribly as always.

I’ve had a good time these twelve years or so with RuneScape, one way or another, but eventually, it will be time to move on. Indeed, we have work, things to do, things not to do, some of us may have kids, that’s life. Nevertheless, I will try to be part of RuneScape, one way or another, until the very end.

Funorb and Chronicle are getting their plug pulled soon, along with Runescape Classic.

Funorb's plug was pulled long ago. Java updated, Funorb didn't update with it, and the two programs became incompatible, so you can't even play the games anymore.

I mean, from what I see on the subreddit, it appears that RS3 is deteriorating quickly.

And the only people who remain are the sort that aren't interested in stories or roleplaying threads. Even the people who would take time out of their day to post things like "Look at these Roleplaying Fggts" are gone now.

The serial gravebumper doesn't count.

But honestly what Jagex is doing nowadays seems like a quick cash-grab before they finally hang it up for good.

I think it's more like they're struggling to stay afloat, and cash grabs are the only way to do so, even though that is driving even more people away. It's a vicious cycle.

Though it doesn't help that most of the people who were truly passionate about the game are all gone now.

you are partially correct about FunOrb.
The last game to be added was 2010. And yes, eventually they stopped using the Java/Flash player. in late 2014 one of the devs snuck in 1 last game and a few minor patches or something. then that was it.
but!!!! there were workarounds to it. I don't have the links, but there were methods for running the games even though Explorer, Firefox, etc didn't support it anymore.
I think one of the "stable" methods required using a 3rd party. As much as I wanted to try to play (or finish out) Armies of Gielinor again (I played the free version thru, never did the Sara or Guthix campaings), I didn't want to chance it.
