So the Princess is the last chip holding MP3 from the world? She is clearly an enemy of humanity and must be stopped.

I suppose I'd better revise my bio then. I had brainstorms for a better character the other day...

But, before I do anything of the sort, do you have any good movie recommendations, Inferi?

Sadly, I do not. The amount of movies I watch is about as low as the amount of TV shows I watch.

Hell, I'm still about 6 movies behind in the Marvel universe, and I really like those.

In any case, though, yes. You have seen through my master plan and, now that you are going to cut it off at the root, I must make a new one.

NotFishing,
Mail was more expensive than plate, regardless if mail was cheaper to produce, however, I have speculated that smaller parts of mail, such as mittens, aventail, or coif, may have been easier things to acquire. Hammering tiny rods of iron, or making mail from iron wire, are definitely cheaper and easier to do, but mail wasn’t cheap, and Europe had lots of iron. Note that chainmail and platemail are not historically accurate terms; they appear within a couple hundred years ago. Mail was also tailored to match the wearer’s body, too.

I think it is worth noting that plate is usually worn over top of chainmail anyways.

Also, I also have to point out that you only pointed out that a breastplate was more expensive than chainmail. A breastplate only covers the torso, but a chainmail shirt covers the torso, arms, midsection, and potentially even lower. Are you taking other items into consideration like pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves, and so on?

Hey, I have no problem with unique characters. My problem is when people try to make their characters so unique they end up feeling out of place, or they draw so much attention that it begins to detract from other aspects of the RP.

I suppose I have to ask at this point: should I be trying to post on Trails right now? I haven't given up on it, but I don't know if everyone else cares anymore or what.

I've been meaning to post, but I just can't find the motivation to write for the character I've created, and I can't think of any alternative character ideas either.

I was referring more to the several rank and file roleplays with no magic that you penned awhile back.

+1

It's actually kind of concerning really how fickle I am with characters. It's a good thing I'm never required to write sequels.

EDIT: I just had a thought. If Crystallis anti-gravity packs exist for the public, have any advances been made on Jetpacks? I'm currently thinking of a hip mounted pack similar to this.

Oh, Fish, mind if I ask you what your big conspiracy theory for the other thread was that you refused to tell me while it was active?

Chloe and the rest of the boarding crews were experimental Chrystallis-infused robots. Nalis wanted to eliminate her and all the others in order to set back Veranian research.

I don't force people to use stock equipment, though.

So, you guys think I should make another attempt at Stronghammer Company?

NotFishing, about mail and plate
By plate armour, I was thinking of common armour: breastplate, backplate, and spaulders, in relation to a mail shirt. The typical set of common armour, or munition armour, was cheaper than a mail shirt.

However, if we consider harnesses, such as those worn by knights, yes, they are extremely expensive. Common harnesses, as would be worn by richer militias, were not as elaborate.

Also, plate worn over mail became less frequent as the Renaissance progressed. However, in Italy, Italian knights continued wearing mail shirts beneath full plate armour.

In other news, I woke up with a bad headache. May impact my work for today. As a heads up, my rework for Impurity will separate classes based on phase. So, the most powerful classes are Heroes, for the Heroic phase. This will provide progression, as characters would not begin the main quest capable of:

this way, the younger Heroes must rely on what limited expertise they have. Only upon becoming adults, do they maximise their power, so to speak.
