Agreed. People are offended about everything, then people get offended about other people being offended, and so on. I find it's better to just ignore all of that bullshit. Let them have their fights and arguments and debates, I've learned that there's very little to be gained from arguing and debating on the Internet. Typically, I'm not going to change their mind, they're not going to change my mind, so in essence it's just a fruitless endeavor.

Most of the Internet is comprised of echochambers where likeminded people just circlejerk repeatedly. Liberals refer to anyone who is right of Karl Marx as a nazi or a fascist, conservatives refer to anyone left of Ronald Reagan as an SJW. It's all very pointless and there seems to be no grey area or centrism allowed, no compromise. Just a waste of time. Reddit is one prime example of a place where this mentality reigns. However, it seems that the liberals are more focused on silencing their opposition than the other way around because differing opinions invade their 'safe space' and what-not.

I prefer to keep most of my political leanings to myself anymore as people can't seem to grasp the concept of nuance.

But I think society in general is going down the shitter anyway, which is one of many reasons why I've scaled back my participation on the Internet as a whole in hopes of going off-grid some day. Only social media I really use is Reddit and even that's getting more and more taken over by the hivemind. Deactivated my Facebook about a month ago and couldn't be happier with that decision overall.

To be fair, that "hivemind" can do amazing things when put to use. Just look at 4chan - they have repeatedly been able to track people based on minute details, to the point where they tracked down a terrorist training base from a video of their training regime.

Me to, I wanted to RP about the cyber-samurai Ishida-33. Hm, a fighting game themed RP, like Mortal Kombat or something, that would be pretty cool, actually. I kinda did something like that with Impurity, but it was a system, not an actual RP.

Good points, as always. In my case, the most extreme my politics have been was when I was complaining about what we all know about, but I never go further right wing than that. I only support vigilantism and militias in temporary, short-term bursts, but it is a bad idea, and the Founding Fathers also warned against the use of such practises. Indeed, the idea of "protecting people" can quickly lead to "hurting people".

But yes, you're right in all your points. It's like everyone wants to hate everything they can't control, but oh well, people are like that. Heh, I also kinda want to go off-grid, I'd like to just be a villager with Internet, that's all I'd ever want.

I actually saw a few videos on youtube explaining how Dragon Ball Z powerups and ki attacks relate to plasma and electro-magnetism (explaining the light, force and sheer heat involved from practicing "anime martial arts&quot ;) . I mean, the concept seems silly, since it would probably take less effort to simply electrocute your target... but I imagine using this line of thinking could work for any "fighting game".

True, I've seen quite a few insane threads on 4chan where people have tracked down animal abusers and what-not and doxxed them so they got pizzas and prank phone calls for a week or two. Quite entertaining. But that can also lead to some pretty bad situations, such as the whole 'swatting' thing that got popular. The Internet can be a glorious place but it can also be a complete shitfest sometimes. Overall, it has unfortunately become more corporate. Used to be sort of the 'wild west' and most of the people back then, around 2008 and earlier, were pretty much all nerds. Myself included.

I'm pretty right wing in terms of my thoughts on guns, immigration, and the degeneracy that tends to be a common thing nowadays. I'm zero compromise on the 2nd amendment, think that if people want to immigrate they need to use the proper channels and there's no excuse for doing otherwise, and that the public hivemind is becoming more and more degenerate and very proud of it.

Economically I'm pretty much a libertarian.

When it comes to climate change, industrialism, imperialistic wars and general social issues, I'm on the left. Climate change is real and humanity is having a part in it, I think corporations ought to be held responsible for their actions, people abusing tax loopholes ought to be jailed, we ought to mind our own damned business and stay out of the battles of other nations and people, etc. Social issues like gay marriage and drug policy ought to be a no-brainer, if people ain't hurting others, let them do whatever the hell they want. Most importantly, money should play no role in politics whatsoever.
