Also, to be more serious, I think we need to address the elephant in the room and talk about Aranel's strange paranoia toward Gareth.
He has done nothing to earn her suspicion, and I've established in his character sheet that one of his most prominent skills is his ability to lie and manipulate. Yet somehow Aranel immediately knows what he is up to something and is not entirely trustworthy.
Most of his reactions thus far have been completely reasonable and don't actually indicate that he is against her in anyway. He did bow to Sir Amik, but Sir Amik has the power to see them all arrested, and he also gave them advice on how to escape the city (advice which, I should add, he didn't even have an ulterior motive behind.)
It feels a lot like meta-gaming to me. Furthermore it also kills off some perfectly valid story potential - what is the point in having a manipulative character who is so easy to see through?
