Tbh it might be simpler to consider everything before Annie's outburst as lost conversation threads. It would help the flow of the conversation, even if it would be a little unfair on Lasky. This would also liken the captain to Captain Okita from Star Blazers 2199, who will allow anything short of slugfests on his bridge so he can listen to ideas.

And nah, it's not getting dismissed, although any answer is definitely going to be shorter than it would have been. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
