Alright, there's my new RP. It's just five posts of content, plus five reserves, so should be easy to go through. I've simplified basically everything, so it should be easy to understand. I've got a lot of Imgur images saved to quickly and easily produce further scenes and story-changing events during RPing. Overall, the RP will be a subtle but drastic, with additional features gradually introduced and explained as the RP progresses.

I find it kind of weird that a society could have so many people of childbearing age, yet have a shortage of children. Were all of the adults sterilised or something...? I mean, even if they adopted a one child policy, kids shouldn't be that rare.

In Half-Life 2, the populace is sterilized. In games like Fallout, STALKER, or Metro 2033, there seems to be very few children. So, all things considered, we assume the lack of children as something to do with deliberate semi-sterilization (lack of resources means population control is important, perhaps vaccinations sterilized citizens?) and radiation. As a real-life example, Japan has very low birth rates and was nuked twice, so I think it makes sense radiation impacts fertility (I think?).

Overall, I wanted to have a RP that's bleak and rather hopeless, but also to keep it simple, short, and easy to imagine and understand. Lack of reproduction gives it a stronger dystopian feel, too. Of course, we can assume that Outlanders have more children on average, as they'd be away from governmental sterilization. Also, considering the nature of the Combine, reproduction isn't necessarily necessary!

Also, I just realized I forgot to add a customization option during character creation. Will have to implement that.

OK, I forgot to mention I tidied up the RP a bit. Also added a Wasteland Mercenary Class, something I forgot. Rearranged and added a few images to make them more suitable to context. The RP should be ready.

I still have tonnes of Imgur images saved, but there's way too many to use. It ranges from locations to characters to scenes, which should be useful for ease of RPing. If anyone needs any help on finding a suitable Imgur image for their character, just tell me a basic feature you want or type of headshot, and I'll find it!

You're not completely right on the comparison Azi.

Japan's declining birth rate is due to the effect of a culture that is industrialized and simultaneously not having a significant influx of immigration.
Russia is also a (mostly) industrialized nation. It too has had a decrease in population and not a lot of immigration.
Industrialized nations don't carry the same "need" as other less developed nations as the ability to get resources, jobs, food, etc are easier. You also have access to better medicine, etc, extending your own life and improving the chances of your newly born children surviving to adulthood.

In the dystopian games, indeed, the radiation would have a serious effect on global fertility, sterilizing a good portion of those that stayed in an area.
You would also have a significant increase in miscarriages, stillbirths, and worse. Along with the higher potential of the children simply dying off from the lack of available resources.
It's a heck hole for adults ... you can't imagine it being any better for little children who have 0 idea of how to survive on their own ... thus you have to toss in the loss of some parents (including the few fertile women left) dying to protect (or trying to) their idiotic children from touching that pretty glowing rock of death.

All of this is also assuming that what is born in this landscape is still genetically a baseline human and not some horribly mutated monster ... or something born sterile ...

All good points, Delta. Indeed, radioactive areas would increase miscarriages and stillbirths, and birth defects. Those can surely be assumed in such a RP world.

Well, still waiting for ppl to join (the new RP). Maybe the RP will work, maybe not. Gotta try, right?

Characters can have exceptional talent or natural abilitiy if you want them too.

I drove for several horus today, went between two cities, too tired to work on anything right now. Will try to post in Omega sometime tomorrow.

AAWWWWW, so cute. I'm tempted to ditch Collaboration and just create a kiddy RP XD too bad nobody's around.
