Annie: Can you train me to fight?

Travis: No. You're too young.

Annie: I'm not too young. I'm twelve. Please train me.

Travis: No. Again, you're too young, and there's not enough time.

Annie: Okay, I'm ready for my training.

She's persistent, I'll give her that.

Great, now I'm left wondering how Ryder would train Annie.

...

Let's hope this never happens.

Yo, Inferi. I'm thinking about introducing a second character for Path - maybe a soldier of the Church who deserted, or was excommunicated for some reason. But I would need to know a bit more about the religion.

And about the Church's military equipment/command structure.

Also I might hold off on introducing him, since I can't currently think of a good way to work him into the plot.

George Rozas said :

This is the only thing I saw that even remotely suggests that.

But to me it reads more as: "I could train you, but there's no point, so I won't." Though we'll need George to confirm it.

Honestly though, at the very least Travis could probably share with her some basic self-defense tips against a normal-sized human.

Nothing that will help her against monsters, or against other armed humans, but it's better than nothing.

Hey, if Annie has her own interpretations that's on her. Whether or not she has a valid claim for training is another matter entirely.

EDIT: Doesn't Travis specialise in hunting large beasts? Not exactly the best self defence mentor.
