Because obviously a futuristic government that has access to GPS, satellites, recon robots, reconnaissance drones, global surveillance, the FBI, and artificial intelligences installed in security computer programs, need nine-year-olds with notebooks, pencils, bows and arrows, and swords?

To be fair, GPS, Satalites, Recon Robots, Reconnaissance Drones, Global Surveillance, The FBI and AI can be traced and used against you. 9 year olds with notebooks can just disapear, no questions asked.

EDIT: I find it difficult to believe that the future will be so authoritarian that it will be legal for big brother to snoop in on everything people do without cause. At least, not openly.

Indeed, a nine-year-old could disappear, but a single scan of her face and it's all systems go for finding her. Unless, of course, she disappeared in a technology-less area.

There's a much, much, much bigger, well, technological system at hand. It's meant to be a surprise, and an Unknown Feature. It can only be revealed later on in the RP.

Annie, you clearly did not read the thread. I will no longer talk about this subject until I am convinced that you did.

Is six foot underground far enough below the sensor?

EDIT: Are remote bodies a thing? I mean, putting human souls into robots seems a bit drastic when they could simply be controlled from a fully immersed person on life support. Plus you run into the whole mortality thing, whereby the Robot can actually die.

West,
Six foot under probably won't be enough to avoid detection. RADAR can go up to four hundred miles (I think), and SONAR can up to five thousand miles (I think), and both can go quite far through solid surfaces. I think it takes a few feet of solid concrete to stop RADAR and SONAR, and only if you are extremely quiet.

Of course, if someone were to go in the sewers underneath a busy city, there'd be so much traffic it'd be quite difficult to pinpoint a single person.

Remote bodies? Not sure what those are. Yes, most robots probably are controlled conventionally, but the idea of putting a soul into a robot I thought was pretty cool. However, since it costs like a billion dollars, it usually does not happen, so very few robots are Soulmechs.

Yes, I suspect they will be DEATHLY quiet inside that concrete foundation.

TAKE THE HINT, DAMN IT!

Have you ever seen Avatar, where you can control a humanoid mech remotely by entering a dream-like state inside a sensory deprivation tank? The advantage being that if the mech dies, you don't lose the operator.

Can I join somebody's thread as the Karate Kid? No matter whether or not it fits with the theme of the thread?

I mean, if that's the bar we've set.

Name one theme the Karate kid wouldn't fit.
