Hmm. I think I might have an idea for an antagonist for Annie's Gifted Vs Government thread - but this idea would definitely turn the gifted into antagonists, if not enemies to humanity. This backstory even includes a reason why everyone was caught in the first place, and will give the Government a chance to redeem themselves (or not. lets face it, the world is run by scheming bastards).
Sir Pouncealot, yes. I would honestly love a role-play where we just fool around with cartoony characters, something like Mario Party or something. Maybe, the reason why we seem to suffer burn-out in threads, is because there's too much focus on long-term, fully developed themes. Or maybe I'm just plain wrong.
Sounds like you'd be taking control of more than half the thread, West.
*Shrugs* Threads like Annie's were all the rage back in 2009/2010. They were often abandoned by their GM's, and derailed by appointed TM's who renovated the thread.
That being said, posts were shorter back then, people chatted in-game and you could expect 10 pages of posts a day. Nowadays, picking your nose can take up to 4 paragraphs (minimum), nobody plays Runescape and you'll be lucky to get through a posting round in a month. I think this is the reason why people have trouble investing in threads.

I honestly wouldn't say I have trouble investing in a thread (most of the time, since I have to actually find it interesting and continue liking what's going on), the problem is keeping that one other person invested that decides they don't want to be part of it anymore which then triggers that other person to not want to be part of it anymore and then it spirals downwards from there.
As a side note, I'm gonna wait a bit longer for people to post, but I'm going to do so in the next few days for at least someone so that things can continue moving.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
I also have no problems staying part of a thread, I don't think I've ever left a RP. But yes, it's about keeping the GM plus at least three more users, to maximise the experience. Whenever a thread has less than four people total, it always fails.
Speaking of Mario Party, I have Mario Party 3 on my Nintendo 64. When I get back to work, I plan to expand my Nintendo 64 game collection.
